Already been posted but Mexico 86 was the first one I can really remember watching. 9 at the time and can still remember my Dad up for some games.
Also, mentioned in despatches should be S Korea/Japan in 02. Any event that got pubs open at breakfast time is OK by me.

Magnificent tournament, peak World Cup, I was heartbroken when Brazil were knocked out by Italy, two great teams but Brazil were just so good and entertaining.

Italy were poor until that game.
Then Rossi get an hatrick and the rest is history.
Zoff had an amazing save as well at the end.
He somehow held on to the ball as well.
