Favourite World Cup?

Spain 82. That Brazil team was a joy. I was a mesmerized 11 year old. Italy v brazil game is one of the all time classics.

proper old school tango ball too

Mexico 1970 - we were allowed to watch the matches at school in the TV room in the afternoon. I was at Riverside Primary School, Stirling and we saw some great matches. When England were playing we chose to go to lessons.

Argentina 78. Ticker tape. Kempes. Archie Gemmell wonder goal. Italia 90. Half-decent England effort. Gasgoine's tears. Too bad they've messed it up this year (and the domestic season too - what were they thinking ?).

Argentina 1978, Spain 1982 & Mexico 1986 were awesome.
Most of the ones after that were a bit 'meh'

Italia ‘90. This was the first one I really got into. England semi finalists and Ireland getting to the quarters. We’d watch the matches and then go and play out and try to recreate the goals scored. I tried to recreate that Platt goal loads of times! Gazza being Gazza crying and Linekar’s famous ‘have a word with him’ caught on camera. Great times, apart from the Germans of course! I’ve still got the sticker book somewhere, I must find it.

78 was great as a boy.
Fell in love with Argentina's strip then and it's still my favourite international top.
Spain 82 was a better tournament, great teams, great games and loads of passion, Tardelli celebration being so iconic

Argentina 78 first time I had seen televised games in colour , Spain 82 watching in the pub and italia 90 as I was there

Mexico 70, first one watched and Colin the King made me a City fan, closely followed by Spain 82, England again after missing out and feeling denied in 74 and 78 (although it was good having Willie and Asa in Argentina) and and appreciated more what was going on by then
