FC Copenhagen (A) | Post Match Thread

The law is wrong, the decision was right. Any handball by the attacking team, accidental or otherwise rules out a goal

For accidental handball in the build-up to a goal:

-If one player accidentally handles the ball and a team-mate scores, the goal is given;
-However, if a player accidentally handles the ball themselves and goes on to score, the goal will not stand.

Well we've qualified which is a bonus for resting players for league games.
Well done for battling with 10 men for an hour, apart from that a forgettable match and we now turn to the dippers.

Safe journey home for all the travelling Blues.

A point wasn’t the worst result considering we were playing against 12 with 10 players, for 70 minutes.

So we did not win and the usual suspects jump on the forum. I think Pep got the team correct, it had more than enough to win and if it were not for a bad penalty miss and a mistake from a player settling into the team which led to him being sent off. When down to 10 we looked comfortable but not dangerous enough, think this is down to not playing with Alvarez as the CF much and the fact that we did not need to push on and win. Games like last night will benefit the team in the long term, mistakes were made, lessons will be learnt. Oh and not saying it was not the correct call, but that hand ball is a joke, what advantage did we get from it - none as it did not alter the balls trajectory significantly and it was totally accidental. The rule should be clear - accidental handball when the hand is in a natural position should not be hand ball. Oh well the Dippers next which will be a test at their toxic ground.
