Re: Manchester City Council Loan FC United £550K and.....

There is no way they will be able to pay it back.

Not only that - but what happens if they default on the payments or go bust?

Who is the guarantor for £550,000? The club in effect will have no assets. They wont own the land, only leasing it so they can't sell it and the stadium will be worthless as who else can do anything with it?
What other organisation could get such a loan without any assets???

It's 5 minutes walk from me this cunting stadium, (or planned stadium that should be). Anyone who knows the location will know that parking for a match attracting a thousand or so punters is going to be a fucking nightmare. They play Sunday league matches there at the minute, and St Mary's Road becomes a fucker at times, and that's just for 40 or so players and spectators. If that becomes a thousand on a match day for FCUoM, fuck that for a laugh. Also, if they play on Sundays alot of the church goers park around there too. Its going to be hell.

There will be weddings at the church on the Saturdays too. The whole plan has been a joke from the start.
They were offered Wythenshawe Park, but no, they didn't want a running track around the pitch. They were offered to share with Broughton Park Rugby Union FC at Hough End, but no they didnt want to ground share. So instead they accept a green field partly with a covenant on it, in a residential area - totally unsuitable for a 5000 capacity stadium.
And the council have gone along with their every whim.....

5k? Didn't realise it was that high! My folks' next door neighbour is a massive, and I mean massive FCUoM fan. He walked away from United as soon as the Glazers took over and started following these lot. A lad I used to go to school with, his dad is one of the coaches there. They will both be tugging away at it being local. Fucking FCUoM my arse. I'll be winding that fucker up about this.
You'll get all the kids off the miners asking to 'mind' the cars, but unstead of it being a quid like the good old days at Maine Road, they'll be demanding fivers!

Re: Manchester City Council Loan FC United £550K and.....

That money could have been spent improving facilities at all the local non league grounds that have been serving their communities for decades.

Re: Manchester City Council Loan FC United £550K and.....

Amassing such a massive amount of debt in order to further the success of the club must be quite humiliating for them.

You can suck the shit out of an arse but you can't do anything else with it, it's still just the same old shit.

Re: Manchester City Council Loan FC United £550K and.....

Manchester City Council and in particular Pat Carney are a bunch of fucking idiots. They wouldn't spend 15 grand on a few fireworks in the centre at New Years Eve (after making thousands on the Christmas markets), yet loan these bunch of pricks £550k!
I just hope the lads over at Maine Rd F.C (real amateur team) are busy putting their application together!

Re: Manchester City Council Loan FC United £550K and.....

Scandalous.

And the worst football "fans" of any team, in any league, ever.

I have asked djm who posts on here who is involved with Maine Road, asking how much rent / council tax / business rates Maine Road pay each year. I've emailed Abbey Hey the same question.
