Re: FC United - FCUM fan loses the plot (bottom of page 36+)

I find it a truly laudable goal to set-up and run a community football club, develop links between local people and the sport etc etc.

I tend to have an issue with the way that FCUM are trying to parachute themselves into existing communities, as they have already done with Bury, tried to at Ten Acres Lane and are now attempting to do with Moston.

If the club truly and honestly wanted to do things for the good of a community then they would ask which communities would like them to house them and choose from any list of any who are willing.

There is also a club ground over in Flixton that has wanted for decent investment for years, in fact the club has recently folded leaving behind a pitch, changing rooms and clubhouse (as well as a community well used to hosting lower league football since the 60's). Did FCUM jump on that opportunity, nope of course not.

They insist on playing at 3pm on a Saturday..............................unless ESPN give them £100,000 to move the game to a Friday night and they're anyones.

They played Droylsden in a cup match at Droylsden 3 0r 4 years ago, big away following was expected, 200 turned up as the scum were on the telly in the Champs league.
That's not true. That match was 5 years ago, tomorrow[1]. Not sure how many were FC, but the official attendance was 1048. The lion's share of the attendees were FC, if we're honest (yes, I was there).

We have a good thing at City, so no need to lie about a 7th division team's attendances to make us look bigger.

I wasn't attempting to lie, just relaying information I was given by an official at Droylsden, why you getting all shirty about a scum club anyway.

It was £67,500 each (at Rochdale) ........... the hypocrisy of that particular incident is quite unbelievable.

They complain about the commercialism of Football but the whole Club is based on exploiting the commercial value of the rags.

Oh dear....
FA Trophy 2nd qualifying round - Stamford 2 - FC United 1

So that's knocked out of the Manchester Premier Cup, FA Cup and FA Trophy all in the space of 3 weeks.
The wheels on this bandwagon are well and truly coming off!

Some quotes from FC fans after todays game :

Twitter quote from board member

'fcuking awful. Fed up of making excuses. Crap crap an more crap. Can't go on like this. Awful'

Watched the whole game sober - never again!
Wish I had gone in the bar now. Shockingly bad in the second half against a truly awful Stamford side.
No change in tactics save lumping it towards Jonesy towards the end. Sorely tempted not to bother with away games after that. People spent good money following the team and deserved better.

Maybe its time for change ; players or management ? or both!!!!!!!!
We seem to have hit the wall, and cannot get over it.

As it's not any fun any more. What about slitting from that mob and setting up a new, smaller 'fans' club? With their support they could bully the existing clubs and who knows? Make the Football League.

They could call themselves the Rebels' Rebels!
