FC United Thread

Last home game of the season watched by 2,042 on a day with no rags game - unless they all watched the women's game instead!

Obviously got a boost with it being the last home game. Personally, I find it slightly bewildering that this bunch of utter shysters, who have no identity other than one that's ripped off from a different club, can find over 2,000 idiots willing to spend an April Saturday watching them.

I see that their average home attendance for this season is just over 1,700. As I discussed in this post a little while back on this thread, their gates seem now to have plateaued out at around this level, as their average for the previous two seasons when fans were allowed in was very similar. It's not much more than half of what they were attracting when they first moved to Pallet Park. Hopefully they'll continue on the path of mediocrity in the NPL and more support will bleed away in time.

One question - do they still pursue that gimmick where fans are allowed to pay only what they can afford? If so, their actual gate receipts might be much poorer than the headline attendance figures suggest, which will hopefully keep them in a position where they carry on haemorrhaging cash.

Pretty sure I had to be about £13 for the enjoyment of being called a Yorkshire **** and told to fuck off after about 10 minutes in.

The flag staring me in the face: "Making friends not Millionaires" being quite ironic.

Have to go there again next season.... yay

Yes.
I can't believe they get away with this every season. They say the minimum cost for an adult ticket is £175 with a "suggested donation" of £75.
So they pay VAT on the £175 where as they keep the entire £75 of the donation.
I'm surprised the Inland Revenue aren't all over that

£250 eh? Is that what teams at this level charge? Could watch Oldham for £286 next season who are 2 leagues I think above them.

Think I paid £450 at the most this season to watch the best team in the land and all the world. I'd have paid that to watch the equivalent of Crooks/Vaughan etc but, it's a bonus that we get to see Kev, John and Alfie jr etc.

It looks like an attempt to evade VAT or something. Hence the 'donation', which isn't really a donation at all, but expected as of right. I suppose City could try that. Halve the price of season tickets and suggest a 'donation' on top, that would actually be compulsory.

Hold on a minute, they expect people to pay to watch that cringe? What happened to ‘Punk Football’?
