FC United Thread

They got desperate for the bank holiday Monday game next week & announced it was north Manchester day and anyone with a north Manchester postcode can get a free ticket (don’t all rush at once!) then Ashton complained as it’s against their league rules to give away free or reduced tickets to only home fans. So they had to give away free tickets to Ashton postcodes too

1579, again that includes all season ticket holders. The number actually in the ground announced at the start of next month will be lower. Pretty poor for the first Saturday home game of the season & a big campaign to push the game as United & city both weren’t playing today
Tick tock

Unfortunately I'm washing my bald head that day!!

They did this last season I recall, giving away 1,500 tickets. The rough difference between the attendances between the game before and after was +700, laughable when they kept stating all 1,500 were taken. Unless local Blues were taking them and placing them in the recycle bin?

Also, love Ashton's ''amazing gesture'' remark lol. The fuckers are skint and desperate for locals to buy a hot dog and a beer even though they know they won't be back unless it's free to get in again. And you can bet the bucket shakers will be out in force at the turnstiles with the ''suggested donation'' price taped to it.

Publicly the 1500 tickets were given away, their board report said that 800 of those tickets were actually used, which was a “fantastic response”

First Saturday home game of the season and todays 1500 we’re treated to free lawn care advice from
The official lawn care provider and all 3 24/25 kits being on sale in the club shop, but the shameless bastards still preach on about being against modern football & everyone else being too commercial

Do they not recognise the parts of Ancoats with an M4 postcode as being in North Manchester?

Here is a run down of how much The Splitters have received from Manchester city council since 2011.
The 'Expenses Type" given on the excel spreadsheet I'm looking at, come under one of the following categories:

Works & Associated Costs For Land & Buildings
Grants + Subsidies Awarded
Payment For Services
3rd Party Payments Relating To Voluntary Organisations
3rd Party Payments To Health Authority
Supporting People payments
Hire Of Premises
Home Care

In total (up to the end of 2023) the council have handed over £1,918,855.85 to SCUM.
This included £1,108,488.00 in 2014 for the stadium costs.

It also includes on the Expense Type another payment under 'Long Term Debtors'.
In 2017 they were given £80,000
In 2019 they were given £170,000
And 10th February 2023 they were given £150,000
Total of those three payments is £400,000

And they have the audacity to state that unlike other clubs they do not have a wealthy benefactor!
