FC United Thread

I am a Conn fan, including his championing of FCUoM - yet struggling to defend his silence over the recent developments at the club. He posted a tweet saying he was at the home game last weekend - days after Andy Walsh's resignation, so I fail to believe he is oblivious to allegations / charges made against Walsh / the board / board members / employees of the club.
I know David and we agree on a lot but I struggle to understand his membership of FCUM. I know his liking for fan-owned clubs and his dislike of much of what constitutes modern top flight football but there are plenty of other clubs he could fly his flag at. Darlington is just as close to where he lives and is a real phoenix from the ashes club.

FCUM is just rags who still want to be rags, with all the entitlement and arrogance that entails. They just don't want to be rags under the Glazers so have created a different sort of United. They still hate us just as much. I was a believer in fan ownership but it's become clear, talking to people and observing what's happened, total fan ownership creates as least as many problems as it solves. The German 50%+1 model works best for me, where you have a partnership between fans and investors but where, if push comes to shove and there's an extreme scenario, fans can control the outcome. I've also met Andy Walsh and he struck me as a dynamic and powerful character with n unshakeable vision. But the problem is that people like tht tend to do whatever they feel is necessary to keep that going. They want yes-men around them and don't want to hear anything that might suggest there's an alternative.

The obvious problem with 100% fan ownership is (with 3000 ''owners'') is there is never going to be 100% conscientious amongst the ''owners''. So to begin with everyone toes the line because the aim of the club outweighs individual ideas or agendas, but given time ''owners'' become disgruntled over one or two issues that then become 4 or 6 issues - as we are seeing here.
And when ''owners'' see that others are profiteering from their status, then the gloves come off and all go in fighting for a piece of the pie.
As someone said a few pages ago, ''all fans are equal, but clearly some were more equal than others''

Credit to Conn for his work during the Hillsborough inquests but his sucking up of all things Utd lite and his disdain towards us means he's can fuck off in my book.

Subject: Legal obligations

Unless the Board releases all financial information that has been requested - many times continually requested - on the Members' forum at fc-utd.co.uk by Friday 1st April 2016, I will beinitiating legal proceedings in the County Court against both Adam Brown (as director of FC United Facilities Ltd) and Michael David Sherrard as Board convenor of FC United CBS for breach of Section 42 of the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014.

The net is rapidly closing in on you ladies and gentleman. It's time to start adhering to your legal obligations.

Regards,

John-Paul O'Neill

So much for the "family club" feel and "all in this together"

This was always going to happen the higher up the divisions they went.. they became the thing they hated and first started the club for. Irony at it's best.

In hindsight the Glazer's haven't been too bad for the RAG's if I'm honest. I can think of 100 worst owners of football clubs down the years.

Bet the same so-called "fans" who jumped ship are back at OT supporting the RAG's once they are successful. Muppets ! the lot of them.
