Less than 10% aye, again, nobody is saying any different.
What do you think the council can do with a 6.5m white elephant, er, I mean football stadium that would do council tax payers alright?
Sell it? They'd only need a million to break even I'm sure that'd be easy enough.
As for City. Most of the money was lottery funded. The council did indeed stump up money - was it 40m or 50m?
City have been paying back initially 2m a year and I think that is now 3-4m a season as well as a cut in the naming rights funding. With over a 100 year lease, now that is a fantastic deal for council tax payers. Contrast that to Moston where the Rag Socks pay 1 quid a year rent for 125 years....
It is in the long term yeah but initially it wasn't. Once our loan is paid back in full with interest the full amount paid back won't be far off the loan and grant amounts combined, and to show for it a relatively deprived area of Manchester will have a multi million pound facility whose occupants are duty bound (by both themselves and the terms of their lease) to provide a plethora of community initiatives whilst creating jobs in the local area (already happened). All in all money well invested providing you don't hold a ridiculous grudge against anything football related with United in it's name ;)
Yep, the whole point of not buying the ground was to avoid fucking the taxpayer over alá Soccer Club United of Manchester.
See above, great business for the council and ergo the taxpayer.
We do.
However, we don’t sing about SCUM, funnily enough.
What you sing is up to you, what we sing is up to us. Maybe concentrate on your own atmosphere issues before slating a club who generate a good one for the entire game both home and away ;)
Ive met a fair few fscum fans and every single one of them are still ‘massive’ rag fans, deluded ****s every single one of them
Cool story, I've met a fair few city fans and they all kill innocent puppies, bastards!
with man city running away with the football in the big boys league maybe the green and gold fans will flood back to moston and sing about little old city and leeds and liverpool
Back to Moston? Were they ever at Broadhurst Park in the first place? Don't recall that, don't even recall Broadhurst Park existing when all that was going on.
I live about 2.5 miles from their ground and the other day I went out to the car and could clearly hear them chanting the “why don’t City fuck off home” song
The wind must have been in the right direction because never heard anything before
You can hear us from 2.5 miles away? Fucking hell we're good :)
They were playing the Crass of 92 FC, so I imagine both sets of fans were joining in.....
Can't say I've ever heard Salford City fans sing anything other than "Salford! Salford! Salford!"
and wearing half and half Crass of 92 / Moston Rag Socks scarves
That kinda thing wouldn't be seen dead at Broadhurst Park, you see plenty of that stuff at Old Trafford and the Etihad though ;) Besides Salford have a lot more in common with you guys than they do FCUM, pretty much polar opposites.
