FCUnited - This City is still ours

Having read through a lot of info this is how it works and all fans should be aware.

The owners of City know that under UEFA RULES in a couple of years they will not be able to spend more than they can earn.

So in order to maximise revenue they are buying cheap land with a Metro going through it (paid for by all of us) to build Sports, leisure and retail on a huge scale. As they will be a major part of the consortium they will eventually reap the dividend from all this. Naming rights etc etc

This will mean they are able to keep on spending big lumps as they will be earning big lumps from new east Manchester

It states in the MEN article that City have the Say on development in the area-and a map on here shows the TAL site within it, so it must come as no surprise that they don't want a fly in the ointment that is FC United. Besides the demographics will change and they don't want a fan owned club that is red on the doorstep.

locals in Newton Heath have invested in the FC COMMUNITY SHARES and will be surprised this morning that they have become part of Blue Masterplan.

The money being invested is in the hands of a rich elite who have no democratic legitimacy, and if what is happening throughout the Middle East were replicated in Abu Dhabi then this project could come to a grinding halt and leave MCC with an Ostrich size piece of egg on their face.

Interesting times as ever-but this affects both MCFC,FCUM directly and MUFC indirectly ****

Old school leftism, yawn.............

Well that's one positive outcome of the government's spending cuts lol.

What I never got with all this is why the council were going to help them out in the first place when there are other, far longer established non-league clubs in the local area that have to stand on their own two feet. FC Scum are a club that have sprung up out of nowhere and had the cheek to take the begging bowl to MCC to help fund their new stadium. Obviously they were using the "community" aspect to help plead their case but for me they were only ever in it for themselves.

They've got this warped view that they're martyrs for those that are against all the bad things in modern football but their argument falls down on so many fronts it's untrue.

Against matches that have their kick-off times changed for live television yet as soon as ESPN offered them a decent wedge to show their FA Cup game they took the money. They try to excuse it by saying that they put it to a supporter vote so why vote in favour of it when they all claim to be against it?

Against all the commercialisation in the game today. Hold on - they've just come from supporting the most commercialised football club in the world for the past God knows how many decades. So on the one hand, they were happy to partake in all that for years and years but on the other they've always been against it. Weird.
This sums it up perfectly ^^^^^^^^^^

From someone who's post count shows he's been lurking here on BM since 2008....rags and hypocrisy goes hand in hand as ever.

NB, Bury. You are from Bury. Not Manchester.

No posts in over 3 years until Friday. But what's even more priceless, and I'm surprised that no eagle-eyed BM'ers have spotted this yet, isn't just the 2008 join date but that he signed up on Sunday February 10th 2008 at 5.54PM - about a couple of hours or so after we beat the Rags 2-1 at The Swamp!

Played..

Well. What can you say?

PS. I hadn't noticed before, but 'this is Manchester in blue'.

I don't expect you to remotely understand why we set up in 2005-it was against what much of modern football had become - ticket prices, stewards, all seater etc etc, including inside oT -but the final straw was glazer.

I was very angry at the weekend, calmer now just wish MCC would disclose the real reason why they would not allow US to go TAL.

tIN HAT ON-SMILEY EMOTICON
i dont care if i couldnt stand at a game and had to sit in a bath tub of pigshit, with eamon holmes, james nesbitt and terry christian stewarding in my block @eastlands, id NEVER start following another club !

call yourself 'fans'....do me a favour !

Well, what can you say? At least the blue bit is correct. As you come into the city(centre) from Trafford.

You're quoting attendance figures for another club. The one you all turned your back on when things weren't going your way.
Unbelievably fucking arrogant of you to claim your support is loyal when to a man they betrayed their first club as soon as it started go wrong.
Face facts fella. Your whole fanbase is made up of turncoats and traitors.
Any self respecting rag should want nothing to do with your tin pot bunch of treacherous fucking hypocrites.

Politico is so naive it's embarrassing.

He needs only look at the poster they so proudly show off... Andy Walsh stood proud amongst his minnions.

This was a man who all but coined the phrase "One Love" before seeing the pound signs and conning the gullibles into supporting a Tribute act football club!

I thought you lot were all opposed to commercialism... yet there you are advertising on the main road to the Rags ground.

Hoping to pick up a few more gullibles?

Those who own FCUM are all clever people. They sussed out there was a gap in the market for a re-run of 70's style football, when Doc's Red Army swarmed over every little town in England intimidating the locals... sweeping all before them.

Now they've got the FCUM's re-living those halcyon days!

You're being conned mate. Just accept it and get along to watch your new local rivals of Hyde or Stalybridge and stop fucking worrying and obsessing about City like you've done since the day you were formed.

Who is it you REALLY hate?

The Glazers... or is it still lickle cideh...?

I think we all know the answer to that one.
