Feelings towards the current side

Really like Walker and Kevin. Personal opinion obviously, but I would put those two in the same category as the old guard (Silva, Kun, Kompany, Dinho, Hart, Yaya, Zaba) - not necessarily in terms of ability, achievements or impact, but I just feel that both players really get the club and try to do their best every match. Have a soft spot for Stones and Gundo - both are really smart and down-to-earth players. Dias looks like an early contender for the legends club. We will have to wait at least 5 years to see if he makes it, but the signs are promising. Foden obviously. Other than that, don't really give a fuck about the rest.

KDB's body language is shocking at the minute. Don't know if it's frustration with his own form, with those around him on the pitch, with Pep, or all of the above.

I am sick of hearing that is not fair that teams come to park the bus when they play us, it's a pathetic and weak excuse.

It has always been the same for the top teams, and it will always be the same.

The "world's greatest football manager" is paid an absolute obscene amount of money to come up with a plan to defeat it and the director of football is given an obscene amount of money to recruit players to defeat it.

At this time they are both failing badly.

im feeling unusually positive about the team at the moment. dont worry, i can see we have a problem scoring and rank form problems with many players, and we cant seem to attack with much fluidity BUT, despite all that, arent we just missing our very own Calvert-Lewin, Son, Vardy or Kane? i.e. with a fit and firing Aguero i think we'd look like a very solid winning machine.

i strongly think we'll be in for Haaland at some point.

edit: and i see Dortmund have just sacked their manager.....

maintain the striker part, but not feeling much love to the team today :D

Disappointment but not surprising.

Recruitment has been below the standard required and we don't have real leaders on the pitch and those that want to bleed for the club.

We don't make the right call on many of our players and we don't replace them with those that are needed to keep the standards at the level needed.

The fall can be quick and dramatic but so can the rise if we get our act together in the transfer market.

Once you start making excuses you are well on the way to admitting you don't have the answers and you are out of your depth.

The problem is that there is no pace or power in the side that is needed for the modern game. This possession based football is now outdated and Pep needs to change his philosophy, get with the times as we aren't Barcelona.
We have failed to replace the old guard (Zaba, De Jong, Kompany, Silva, Yaya, now Fernandinho and Aguero) and brought in average or no replacement at all for most of them. I hate to say it but if you compare our team with Liverpool then they are on another level in terms of mentality, hence why Clipperty Klopp labels them as the 'mentality monsters'. I look at our team and I never see any of our players (barring Kev) looking pissed off after a shite performance. Instead the players are hugging and kissing with our rivals as seen at the weekend (which to me says that they don't give much of a fuck). Changes to that along with some tweaking to our play (more direct, pace and power) will see us in the right direction but I think that will only come with a change in manager.

Being totally honest I'm bored.
If we didn't have a pandemic I'd have handed my season card in.
This whole season has been awful so far.
I thought Peps new deal would have rejuvenated the team and we would be playing great. If anything its had the opposite effect to an extent where I wonder whether some of the players want him there.
Very worrying times and I have great concerns we will miss out on the top 4 and not win anything.

I've asked Santa for Kompany, Zabaleta, De Jong, Yaya, David and Tevez. At this stage I'd even be happy with a Nasri.

Sadly, only Paisley and Ferguson (both of whom also experienced extreme moments of good fortune) have rebuilt sides without fading into obscurity.
Liverpool might never have bought Dalglish if Keegan hadn't been so desperate to play on the continent. Similarly, United might never have signed Ronaldo if Ferguson had resolved his differences with Beckham.
In contrast, the vast majority of good teams tend to have one season too many, and suffer in the long term.

Need to stop this holistic bollocks or trying to appease those cuntish clubs in the hateful 8/G14 and sign some proper players that will instantly improve our attack. No fucking about. Go for Haaland, Son and Grealish, or Sancho, players of that level.

And fuck Rodri and Mendy off to any club daft enough to have them.

If we don't then this will be our standard for a few seasons it seems.

Take out the words “or Sancho” and I agree with every word. I can’t think of a single example of Sancho ripping apart a team perceived to be better than the one he’s playing for.

Thats been the issue since the Barca boys rode into town.

We are as a club far too nice, far to worried about what the others think of us, embarrassed about our wealth and resources.

If we are to get back our mojo, we will have to go on the offensive, just like in the Mancini/Cook days, maybe get our pants pulled down in terms of fee's, maybe get abuse from one and all but always getting our men in place, early and ready for the battle.

To get back to our old level is going to be expensive and difficult, are our present execs ready for that?

We all know the problems. Let’s hope the club will act. The recent transfers are not good enough to win. Stop burying our heads in the sand. Sell and buy again. My only concern is that we buy the same type of crap. Transfer approach needs to be reviewed and replaced.

I hope Pep,Txiki,Soriano, KAM have learned from the past mistakes. Lucky we have the funds to buy our way out of this mess.

That game 2 years ago with 10 minutes to go I'd have no doubt in my mind that we would of got a winner.

Last night by 65 minutes I expected us not to score
This is very true. You just used to know that we’d win even when we were struggling - a mark of champions.

We don’t seem to have that ability to pull through in tight games anymore.
