Someone on the radio said that Fergie's pressurising of officials earns the scum 10 points a season.
I know that's what many said on here over the weekend, but to hear a former player say it, really shows how he plays the system.
For serial offenders like him a fine and/or a touchline ban have no effect. So they need to take stronger sanctions.
Never been a fan of points deductions (even if it's them), but if they put a ban on transfers in and out of the club for a window, then he'd surely tow the line.
Could you imagine his red face this week knowing that he'd basically given Arsenal a free run at Zaha, it would be close to exploding!
And should they pick up a key injury, that would punish them more if they couldn't get a replacement.
I've always calculated it as between 10-20 points a season, like i've always told the rags, without something from the ref ,you struggle in a lot of matches.
Great idea BTW but it will never happen.

Re: Fergie

He was quite clearly questioning the linesman's integrity by referring to the previous decision from three years ago. If he isn't charged for this it is final confirmation (if any were needed) that he can do or say whatever he wants without fear of the consequences that would follow to anyone else.

Exactly. Allardyce wasn't "asked to explain his comments", despite the fact that Ferguson's remarks were even more spiteful than Allardyce's.

The difference is Allardyce questioned integrity whereas Fergie said he was let down etc.

Imo its gone too far. I'd tell the old sod to shut up and if he does again he will be banned from touchline for a game, then next time double and so on.

Fergie shouldn't be able to keep doing this. It's not fair to officials, teams and fans. Media spotlight needs putting on him, I'm hoping Samuel or another do so.

Re: Fergie

Why don't they make a rule that no manager/coach can speak about Anything relating to referees if they do it will be an instant touchline ban and a fine

Re: Fergie

Why don't the FA make a rule that no matter what a manager/coach etc cannot criticise or praise a referee or linesman before or after a game and comments must be limited to their own team.
If they want to criticise a ref/linesman they must write to the FA and every time a manager gets it wrong when criticsing should be made to ref a youth or reserve game and to see how well they do at it
