A rag is on Talk Shite with conspiracy theories about Bacon walking because the American Gnomes are deciding to spend fuck all in the summer and City and the Chavs are going to be splashing the cash. That would be nice. Was that Eamonn Holmes? I came in half way through the interview.

Replacing ferguson is nigh on impossible for utd. Love or hate the guy he is a fantatastic manager and constantly gets the best out of his team, whether that is through bullying them or putting an arm around them...he does both but it works.

Moyes - think people are underestimating him. I will go on record and say I would never want him as a manager of us as I cannt stand the guy, but he has done very well at Everton with limited resources though his style of football is horrible (another reason why wouldnt want him). Howver he does seem to be able to get teams to be better than they should be and that is a big trait he shares with ferguson.....probably why many people believe he will g there. I wouldnt right utd off with him there and fergie behind the scenes giving him advice

JM - if he went there it could be brilliant for them or a complete disaster but either way it wouldnt last more than a few years as everyone knows JM lwants to win something in every major league so he could go there win things then leave them in the lurch (it would be funny as well to see the reaction of the chelsea fans and players like Terry and Lampard!!!!)

I think it will be moyes (like most) but Im sure Gill said at some point that the next manager would need european experience which moyes doesnt have really......though again with fergie behind the scenes it wouldnt matter.

I dont think this will weaken them as much as people think as long as ferguson is behind the scenes advising/pulling the strings...he doesnt seem like a person who would let go that easily or not be able to be involved!......m sure he would still be invovled in player recruitement for instance (ie the ambassador role they seem to have marked for him)

Will more than 3,000 turn out for their mini-massive parade now that it's also a farewell to His Holiness?

Re: Slurgie **Confirmed Retired** (merged)

Moyes is a gamble. Yes he's got Premier League experience, and yes he'll likely fit into United's tactics and club structure more easily, but he's never been truly tested at the highest level, he's never had a budget the size of United's, or the expectations, and his European experience is limited. The closest he's got to the Champion's League is a qualifying round defeat to Villarreal. United are replacing a manager who has won 38 trophies at United with one who has never won a trophy as a manager.
