He's not an idiot, he knows they got lucky this year, both with us not kicking on, and that team, they won the league because of his motivation, RVP's early season goals, and our lack of pushing on, certainly not their collective talents as a squad. It may be a young squad and some of the players will continue to improve, but there are some players who won't, and they are the ones that need a lot of money to replace, and even then some luck at a club like united. There are plenty of quite average players too, who won't be motivated as well by anyone else.
That's how I read it too. Win win situation for ferguson really.
