I think obviously they wont just instantly crumble, but their greatest asset has been the stability that he's given them. I reckon never again will any manager manage a club in the Premier League for that long and United will never have a spell of dominance like that again. They'll be up there, but never as dominant.

Yup.

He has been the glue that held them together and made them into more than the sum of their parts.

Without him to bully the media and the referees and 4th offcials and opposing managers and anyone else who stands up to him (remember Bobby last April?) the rags will be a lot less powerful than they once were.

These things always go in cycles, and their day is done, at least for the time being.

Re: Slurgie **Confirmed Retired** (merged)

Surprised at the timing tbh after his recent comments about how exciting the future was - deep down he's obviously scared and wants to go out with a league win

The other surprising element of the timing is that Gill is leaving and they are 2 huge positions to fill at the same time and remain stable, throw in the likes of giggs, scholes and ferdinand approaching retirement and the whole thing is a recipe for disaster

I'd have though he'd want to steer the club through this period but he obviously no longer feels up to the job

Re: Slurgie **Confirmed Retired** (merged)

He might change his mind once he sobers up.
We've had some nice weather in the last couple of days. He was probably pissed out of his skull on cheap cider in his garden when he decided. We've all made rash decisions when we're totally wankered.

Er Gill is gone too

No Gill has everyone's ears in the FA and UEFA, he's the most dangerous threat to our expansion and hopeful future domination at the moment.

3 rags run the FA/PL now in an attempt to preserve their status.

you can see why those moves were made now, hopefully the rest of the league just tells them to piss off.

Re: Slurgie **Confirmed Retired** (merged)

Im ecstatic! Had butterflies this morning reading the facebook statuses, I really couldn't believe it!

I cant see Pisscan being happy with Mourinho in charge, I doubt the portugeezer would do things the rag way, and for this reason, I see Moyes as his replacement - with Pisscan being directly behind him for the next few seasons.
