You should have done what the Mail and talksport have been doing, and took the piss out of Fergie for the things his players have done, like Cantona on Simmonds and as you have already pointed out, Keane on Haaland. What - worse than deliberately trying to break another player's leg, then standing over him gloating?
Worse that Fabrice Muamba being clinically dead for half an hour?
Worse than Marc-Vivien Foe actually dying?
This really is a fucking outrageous statement that should be shown up for the disgrace that it is.
But I'm not holding my breath.
Maybe you're right mate, but it's hardly the most tactful comment ever made.
In fairness Talkshite have pretty much nailed him - even Stan Doggingmore waded in on the after-match phone in.
It's been a long time coming, but I feel the tide is starting to turn against the alcoholic pensioner.
He did and when asked about it and the injuries caused, he said it was 'just a scratch'. No it maybe just me, but kicking a boot with metal studs on it in a fit of Scottish rage is far more dangerous than kicking a football. Like with the Cantona incident when it was 'not as serious as it's being made out to be', or with Keane's tackle which, according to Fergie, was an 'attempt for the ball'.bobmcfc said:Didn't Fergie kick at boot into Beckhams face ? I agree with Pige, in that I'm certain he didn't say that with the incidents of Muamba & MVF in at the front of his mind. The outrageous-ness of his statement though is that he will not have forgotten the Keane, Cantona etc incidents and it's things like that which make his outlandish claim, fucking ridiculous.
That being said, despite going severely OTT in his post match interview, I'm 100% of the opinion that Williams meant what he did and it certainly had the potential to decapitate RVP.

Like the media are saying - double standards galore.

Who refs out matches is what is important.

I would have thought its extremely important. Most if not all refs want to officiate in matches involving United.
If the best way to ensure that happens is to make decisions that the United manager is happy about then we'll see more and more 50/50 decisions, and 40/60 decisions go in their favour.
Its not a deliberate thing but a pretty natural human reaction. So if Oliver is kept away from United games for any length of time it damages the integrity of the competition.
And we should all care about that.

#headtheball.
Ah so we're going down the 'Fergie has say in a refs career' path. I'm out on that one as we'll be here all day.moomba said:Pigeonho said:Who cares?Bluemoon dan said:What I think will be really interesting is to see when Michael Oliver actually gets to referee his next utd match.
