I reckon he'll be out of the door if they don't win the league in the next 2yrs, a very realistic possibility. And his track record in cups doesn't suggest he'll be able to keep the critics at bay

don't think so somehow. I think they are of the mind it will take that long to blend in the new manager to the ethic of the club. anything they win will be deemed a bonus.
united have gone right up in my estimation.

Why would anyone who has won the league this season and has bee successful for the last 10yrs+ deem anything other than repeating said success as a 'bonus'?.
They still have 60mil worth of strikers and their current squad is 'better than '99' according to the man who recommended Moyes. Why would they expect/accept anything other than instant success?

because they are realistic.

I am sorry but all this stability being talked about, Moyes contract is only one year longer than Mancini's who signed a five year contract last summer. Down to the owner at city to decide whether the club honours that contract, if we do, stability and sucess will continue to follow IMO. The scum don't need silverware because they can in the short term look back upon their history under Fergiscum, we however need trophy after trophy each year with an almost win at all costs mentality, that mentality funnily enough was the same as the Pisscan. Can't quiet get my head round stabilty without trophies.

Interesting piece from Daniel Taylor:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2013/may/08/david-moyes-manchester-united-jose-mourinho

This is the first paragraph:
To put it in perspective, it is only seven weeks since the idea that David Moyes was a credible replacement for Sir Alex Ferguson was put to one of Manchester United's executives and he tipped back his head and laughed. Not a chance, he replied. Why, he wanted to know, would a football club of United's stature and ambition bring in someone who had never managed in the Champions League, let alone won a trophy or proven that he could work with a significant budget?

What a difference 7 weeks makes. Oh, and for the record, De Niro - Stop Wumming.

The Success of Everton

To be honest, I am just glad Sir Alex has retired as he has been the absolute key to utd success all these years so as Yaya said and right so, his absence in the hands on management of the players will make a big difference and that is good news for City.

So the loss of Ferguson is more of the issue than David Moyes been appointed as new manager.

Unlike Alan Shearer and many others it seems, I don't have that subconscious and innate dread and contempt that drives people to be automatically skeptical and disrespectful to another Scottish manager because i think success for a club like everton cannot be based on the number of trophies. It is based on the league position, characteristics and qualities of the players and the overall state and position of the club for example are they always finishing in mid table or fighting relegation or pushing for the top 4 or top 6. This is because any club or manager can fluke a carling cup or fa cup or even champions league ( like Chelsea last year) but not many managers can instill the determination, integrity, hunger and the will to compete and win which consequently leads to consistently respectable positions in the premier league and a reputation of being a team that is difficult to beat and always pushing for top 4/6 positions. This is the success of Everton under Moyes, not the number of trophies they won.

I don't know about you but I actually fear Everton more than I do any other team in the premier league. They really annoy me to be honest, but I respect them.

Moyes will be going into this new job with lots of resources, backing and structure. All he has to do is possess his players with that same spirit, integrity and work ethic and that is all that matters because ultimately the players are going to be top class players anyway. It is also an opportunity for him to show what he can do in a big job and i believe he is talented enough.

That is why Ferguson picked him- to instill the Glaswegian grit and will to win in the players and carry on the spirit of hard work and success.

I hope it does not work out and one thing is for sure utd will not dominate as they did under Ferguson. As I said the encouraging thing is that Ferguson is gone and that is good news for us or any other team that see themselves as premier league contenders.
But I am not going to criticize Moyes because I have always rated and respected him as a manager and as a man.

their fans won't tolerate mediocrity

watch them disappear in droves

and if they don't qualify for the Champs league then the financial hit could well be crippling :-)

Hahaha did you lads see what the rags are calling him?
