Rags focused on the reported fee on "rag cafe" but if this kid hits the ground running he'll pay dividends....

Funny because at the beginning of the thread over on the dark side they were salivating about him going to the swamp..... Wankers

fucking hilarious mate, read it myself, first page saying how good he is and how good hed be for them as hes what they need, then as soon as we sign him they go on about his price. hypocritical.

A well known City phobe is said to have said.............

Fernandinho is a sensational capture for Manchester City. He could be the best midfielder in the League next season.

The club got their man
The only perceptible drawback of what seems to be an inflated amount and estimation of the player is the fact that the media will use this transfer to incite and perpetuate negativity and contempt for the club from other fans and the general public. This is evidenced by the fact that Sky sports and the BBC attached the fee to the news headline. The message being that City are once again throwing money around the place with no sense of wisdom and structure- this is their intent (agenda) and it seems to be working if you look at reactions to the deal all over the internet.

But any sensible city fan would of course not give a flying hoots about what other fans think and how they attempt to justify and rationalize their envy and consequent hatred for the club by pouncing on any news and dealing that the agenda - driven utd- infested dark media indirectly or directly portray as negative or controversial. Pathetic really.

What people should realize is that this was not an impulsive or rushed deal.(like last season) The staff had done their extensive research and scouting for a considerable period of time and concluded that Fernandinho is a good fit and will contribute positively to the club going forward. This is why they were willing to agree with this deal as it was clear that Shakthar Donetsk were not willing to sell unless we meet the over-inflated buy out clause or close to it. The fact that Shahktar were not willing to let him go, which forced the player to voice out his intention to leave can only be a reflection of how the club rates him as a footballer and an asset.

So no one should get bugged down by the transfer fee because the bottom line is that the club got their man and rated him so highly that they were willing to pay the fee.

Personally, as I've said a zillion times, I have my doubts about Fernandinho but I hope Im wrong. Notwithstanding, he is now a city player, I wish him all the best and hope he does his best for the club.

The top he's wearing (not the shirt) is nice, but done see it on the club shop?

Well he's committed to the move and that's for sure. Ditched £4m in loyalty payments to force the move.

All good
Good on him. As some people have said already.....he could make a big big difference to our midfield.....really looking forward to seeing him play next season.

He's probably worth around 25m, so over paying by 5-9m whilst not great isn't a big deal.

SD didn't want to sell and they're rich. We're rich and when you put that equation together, plus with our intend to get shit sorted asap, a higher fee is understandable.

I'm not going to be worried about the 5-9m when he's closing down opponents, setting up attacks and rifling in his shots from distance. He clearly wants to be here, I'm sure he'll be a great addition to the side. He has all the attributes to compliment Yaya and there probably aren't that many players around the world with his mix of capabilities.

He's fast, nimble, a good tackler, a good passer, a good dribbler, has a good footballing brain, can run all day and has a wicked shot. And now he's a blue.

He's here to get noticed. There's the Brazilian lads over at Chelski who are being picked, and not him.

This is a bonus for us in that he will be determined to put in a good shift.

He also seems a bit level headed, with his Son and judging his character from the OS interview and a recent interview he made whilst still in Ukraine.

As for his age? he's 28, same age as myself. age doesn't mean shit, if he looks after himself he could be performing better than when he was 18.

I have no issue with the fee. it ain't my money.
People like the men behind city play with Billions most days via Stock markets and whatever else. Do you really think they start to sweat over a few million?
