which when put into perspective against this transfer it looks good value.

If it is a £34m fee and its all up front then the 2 Amigo's are nowhere near as smart as some people on here have been making them out to be.
I guess we need it confirmed to know if we have been well and truly chiseled or not.

It is pretty pointless talking about the fee, no one knows apart from Txiki, Soriano, Khaldoon and Sheikh Mansour. Pellegrini probably hasn't been told.

I especially won't be believing what reporters and "sky sources" etc say.

Impossible that we paid the sky figures. All will come out soon enough, no point stressing about something small like figures when we have the player signed up, that's all that counts.

The Times journalist James Ducker has said publicly that the club have told him it was definitely 34m up front as a transfer fee only. There's no way he would say this publicly if the club had not told him that.

If it was a blag he'd say "his source" or "a source close to the club". The fact that he's specifically and repeatedly said "the club" has told him makes it seem certain that is the case.

Fernandinho looks an outstanding player, I'm delighted at us signing him, but 34m for a 28 year old midfielder is extraordinarily steep.

If true, its a shame and TBH a bit of a surprise thought the days of throwing obscene amounts of money on older "good" players was over. Oh well, its not our money and I suppose we have to just sit back and trust in their judgement. On a side note I would hope Pellers has been involved in the transfer dealings and its not all down to the Barca lads and that idiot Marwood.
