cant believe the club are feeding journos our transfer fees? must be a leak
Or they saw a number in the sky and said "Yep that's it".

I'm sure Shakhtar were more than keen to tell everybody the price anyway, they don't want their fans thinking they sold him on the cheap. Looking after their own interests.

Who cares anyway.

If Fernandinho's buyout clause was £42m, I'd say we've done well to get it down by £8m.

I fucking wouldn't. Let's not kid ourselves here - that's a joke of a fee and this guy is a gamble. He'll be completely worthless within 5 years so to come anywhere near justifying this fee he's going to have to hit the ground running and make a colossal impact

The team at the Bleacher Report seem to think this could be the deal of EPL this summer if Ronaldo doesn't move.

Like others have said, doesn't make a difference what we paid for him. We wouldn't have paid it if he wasn't thought that highly of. I agree with the articles assessment as well that he will likely be the player who has the biggest influence on the team this year.

I've seen a fair few places saying that the £30-ish mill figure is what you get when you add his salary on top of the transfer fee. Following this line of thought, a more accurate figure would be £22m.

On 6 June, FC Shakhtar and Manchester City reached an agreement regarding the transfer of the Pitmen’s midfielder Fernandinho to the English club. The Citizens signed the Brazilian for 40 million euros

40 million euros????? what a joke............ shame

very stupid deal

John Cross the Mirror Journo said on Talksport the other day that Fernandinho will be a superstar in the Premier League next season.

I'd just like to thank all the Manchester City fans who've chipped-in to make this deal happen, you've bought a very good player.

Is he any good at free-kicks? As that's something we've been lacking in recent seasons.

WOW... if we really paid € 40m for this guy and will not get Cavani then I don't understand just exactly what the fuck is going on anymore.

Can't wait to see Fernandinho and Yaya work together under Pellegrini, if Isco is signed it will be amazing to watch those 3 + Silva go to work.
