I will be absolutely staggered if Fernandinho doesn’t get another 12 month deal.

Im still staggered Aguero isn’t getting another 12 months but it appears he wants to stay but not as second fiddle. 32 years old and still another 2 seasons at the top level for me.

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't hear anything until the latest point possible.

The rumours earlier in the season were that he was told we weren't keeping him, and he was now looking around Brazilian teams.

Then the rumours were we offered him a non-playing role, and he wasn't interested in that and thus was looking around Brazilian teams.

Now it's nothing. No rumours or anything. And given they've already announced Aguero's departure, then we know Fernandinho would receive the same treatment should he leave. So the silence is hopeful.

It was around this time of the year we heard about Touré and Zabaleta's departures. So if we're going to find out he's leaving it'll likely be around the time we play Newcastle, in preparation for the Everton game at the end of the season. But I think there's still a lot to discuss between the relevant parties that'll keep us waiting,

There are also rumours he's applied for UK citizenship, and his family and kids are happy here.

I would be very surprised if we hear anything until the end of the season. Fernandinho as captain seems very similar to Kompany, he will announce it in the dressing room just as Vinnie did I think. He will want everyone locked in and focused as well as himself.

He isn't one for grand gestures and will leave as quiet as he joined.

"I've been focused on Man City,' he told TNT Sports. 'I know how much my team-mates need me.

'I made a decision to only decide my future when the season is over. I already had an offer, not to be part of Pep's staff, but to be an employee of the club.

'I was flattered, after eight years at Man City and the respect I have gained here, but it is a decision that I put aside.
'"

There were also quotes from Dinho iirc, that a Brazilian side (can't remember which) offered him a non-playing role.

As Dinho said, he's waiting till the season's over.

Shame we can't clone him, although I'd like to think someone at the club has enough resources to pull it off.
Maybe they can do the same with Sergio, David, Vincent, Pablo etc
