I have not doubt this guy is top draw but why are we signing a 28 year old?? Not exactly one for the future?

I would sooner be signing much younger the likes of Isco would be more in line with the plan if that is to go down the holistic route.

There has to be a balance of experience and youth...and I reckon Isco will be coming regardless ;-)

Makes perfect sense and would appear to be long term and short term thinking.

Fernandhino and Toure should be main stay for next 2-3 years with the like of Rodwell playing understudy but with enough game time to bring him on to be as good as we think he can be.

I can see Yaya losing his place by the start of next season. The days of him playing every game no matter form or fitness will probably come to an end.

Pretty sure the club is planning an announcement of several signings alongside the new manager. So far they havent mentioned anything officially. Lots of negativity surrounding players being bought without a manager in place by the usual culprits. The way things are going, it will be an exciting announcement from the club of a new manager and additional signings. Pellegrini, Navas, Fernandinho and maybe just maybe Cavani??? Exciting times already!

The way Cheeky is going about things I am convinced more than ever the players on Pellis list will be here.

The papers have indicated slight variations in defenders and whether 5 or 6 players but

Cavani
Fernandhino
Isco
Navas

(defender)

If there is to be a sixth

Alicantara

Seems like 2 of them done, 3 or 4 more to go and I am 90% confident these will happen. :-)
Backup goalie and a left back are possible/likely too

-- Wed Jun 05, 2013 12:50 pm --

CLASS ACT, Him and Yaya in the centre of mid will be formidable.

With Rodders and Barry as back up .... :)

Does anyone have a sneaking feeling Barry might be sold ?

No I think Barry will stay, as will Rodders, as will Jimmy

If we are playing 433 in the same shape as Barca I don't think there is a natural position for either of them. I think Milner will be kept as a utility man, but unfortunately I think Barry will move on, and I'm gutted because I really rate him.

I love Yaya on his day he is incredible, but some days he seems disinterested. At least now we will have real cover and proper competition for places in midfield. Injuries, lack of form, need for rest etc will all come into account in a busier fixture schedule next year.
He seems a quality signing, well done!

Have it confirmed that Fernandinho is in Manchester for medical, but no announcement imminent - could be next week

Great News !!

I honestly think Gaz Baz will stay - good player, English, good influence, potential future coaching staff member - would still get game time, just not as much (I think anyway) - can see him playing the league games before and after a CL game, but not the CL game

And Fernandinho to City is gonna be official soon...

umm?

In the same way Navas is de facto a City player. Shakhtar will probably say he's been sold on their website.

Am i wrong, i thought players signings could not be completed until July1st, i just think we will all have to wait a while yet to see the players unveiled , although we will know they are done deals
