Not seen much of him but seems fucking expensive for a 28 year old who's been playing in the russian league for the past 7 years

Ukraine.

Very unerrated league, with underrated players. Only reason they people stay in Ukraine for example instead of fullfilling their potential is that they can get a lot of money there.

Players like Srna, Fernandinho , WIllian is brilliant payers whom can reach a very high level as footballers

I really hope I am wrong but I am not impressed by this at all. For me this is the most important area of the side we need to improve, and like most I am a massive fan of both Barry and Milner.

I was hoping for a Fabregas or a Thiago to come in. Not a 27 year old from the Ukranian League who doesn't get a look in for Brazil.

At least we know he can perform in the Prem. Fellaini aside this guy has only ever played in the Ukraine and last played for Brazil over a year ago. I trust in the new Barca guys though and hope I'm wrong.

I think you underestimate this lad. Has been quite effective for some time now in the champions league and has the mobility, touch, passing, and shooting to really improve our central midfield

I hope so but how many blues were calling for his signature before we were linked? Now everyone seems happy but isn't that what happens with most players we sign to begin with?
I know I was.

Haha one then!

I'm hoping he might just be a player that the team needs because no way would I would have thought he was worth that otherwise. I know it's not my money but FFPR dictates we only have so much to spend.

Really want this story to be true he is a running machine just like Ramires but his all round game is probably better.

Hes not a stereotypical brazilian who cries at the sign of the rain coming hes been grafting away in the midfield for Shakhtar in sub zero temperatures.

Oh and he can shift too.

This transfer window is looking promising from all the reports so far. Seems we have learnt from our mistakes last summer!

He is someone to me who we haven`t got since we replaced Nige, with a slow moving tank in Garcia.
£23M is a risk, but then again me and you aren`t paying it.

Wait until they announce the season ticket prices for next season before saying that. ; )

what about garcia?

what does that mean for him because toure, fernandinho and barry are most likely going to be the ones that start?

Btw he is a great player. Barca were sniffing around for him but we got Song in the end.
Who? Fernandinho or García?

You really need to ask?
Not really but his post was slightly ambiguous. It shocked me!

You happy for 23 on this guy? He's worth half that.

Fellaini is decent, but not technically up to the standard we require, IMO

Brazilians who play in the Ukrainian league aren't visible enough, so to speak. Brazil's managers are often afraid to pick them because of how the fans, not having seen much of the players, would react. Sounds mad but it's true.

Fabregas I agree with although he's a different postion. Thiago Alacantra is an unporven player too and he's a wide and attacking player. Fernandinho is a defensive and centralised midfielder. Has an engine and has a complete game. He battered Chelsea and I mean battered them. I've not seen huge ammounts but I keep an eye on Shaktar because of the Brazilian players they sign. Costa, Willian and Fernandinho all interested me, we've just signed one of them and imo he's the one we needed most out the three of them. The other two wouldn't be uprgades on Yaya or Silva but Fernandinho is an upgrade on Barry and Garcia, no doubt.

Now all we need is an English LB, be it Shaw or Baines.
We need another CB imo unless we keep Richards.
We need a left sided wide player and we need a world class striker to replace Dzeko and the already gone Balotelli with.

Ideally we will Shaw, Marquinhos, Pedro/Sanchez/Reus/Di Maria and Cavani/Falcao. I also reckon a few young squad options, Kondogbia and Obiang fit the discription as does Williams.

Roll on next season :)

Can't believe people are moaning about this signing! Watched him plenty of times, top player and just what we need.

Should be a very good signing. Maybe he's not worth 23M but it's not easy to sign Shakhtar's players. Next two or three seasons should be his peak, he's very mobile, can dribble (3.9 dribbles per game in CL this season) and will replace Barry / Garcia. I'm not sure if he'll be able to perform every match in EPL because he's very energetic but definitely will help in Europe.

We've had a bloody good go already, much to Barca's annoyance. Not sure even Txiki can balance it back in our favour.

Is Reus realistic? Given that Dortmund have lost Goetze and likely to lose Lewandowski? They are Champions League finalists but the way people are talking they won't have many of the current team left when the next season starts

I'm not so sure this lad is ready to quit Dortmund just yet. Money can always open the door but like Kaka, if a player wants to stay put, doesn't matter if the club will consider offers.

Waspish is correct, I believe Isco or Lamela fits the brief Begiristain is already working towards.

It doesn't get the board moist, but Cavani for around £50m is the biggest deal we can do this summer.

And I believe we will.

I would rather spend the whole budget to improve the creativity of the midfield instead of buying ANOTHER striker.

I'd be very happy with Fernandinho. £23 mill is slightly expensive for a 28 year old however he is exactly what we need! Thought we'd go in for a younger mobile midfielder such as Kondogbia but Fernandingo is the full package. Plays just in front of the defence and everything goes through him at Shaktar. Very mobile, great with both feet and loves a pass.

For all you doubters....<a class="postlink" href="http://www.metacafe.com/watch/9619820/fernandinho_vs_chelsea_a/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.metacafe.com/watch/9619820/f ... chelsea_a/</a>

Just from that one clip you can see that he is an upgrade on garcia.....tackles better, is more mobile, quicker and more positive passing as well.

Mario gone, Edin going and Tevez will probably leave next year, that leaves us with Aguero and you're complaining about "another striker". Again you play the fool.

We will only have 2 and an emerging youngster striker unless we buy another one

Brazilians are like Duracell bunnies, so his age won't be a factor whatsoever.

This guy is fecking brilliant and does all the right stuff.

A little concerned he predominantly drives through the right side of midfield, same as Yaya, and it is Barry's side which needs replacing.

This is where I see our new left winger being someone who can run all day, score goals and also not be scared to stick his foot in.

Any word on Bale?

Much as I would love it, mate, I think Madrid have the boy completely boxed off at present.

I have been told to expect a major surprise from left field, but would wager that would be more akin to a Neymar or Reus, than Bale.

If Bale was going to Madrid, they would obviously be looking to offload Tranny to fund the transfer.

I've seen links recently saying Tranny to PSG, but lets face it, if he is available, we should be busting balls to bring him in. Whether he'd want to come is a different matter.

I assume Neymar is Barca bound and has his heart set on it?

Reus is quality and also has age on his side compared to Ronaldo, but does he command the same marketing package you'd get with Ronaldo ... not sure?

They would not look to offload Tranny he earns more for Real Madrid than he has cost including his wages. He is a wet dream for them and the 2nd best footballer on the planet
