Baffles me how some muppets on here can tell you a player is shit after 3 matches !

Baffles me that nowhere on this thread has anyone slagged him off

I suggest you look up blightee's posts in this thread and elsewhere. His entire Bluemoon existence has been slagging off Fernandinho.

And any praise from yourself of Fernandinho has been laboured, can almost hear the teeth grinding together. You even compared him to Jo, which is about as insulting as it gets. :P

Compared the situation to Jo, not the player.

To some people Fernandinho was a superstar after his first game for us and anyone who dared to question that was labelled a hater.

So far, I think he's improved steadily and is now looking like a good addition to the squad. But he is not the complete player I expected for the money. Maybe a few more games will reveal his full potential and we will see him cover some ground with the ball as well as pinging quick passes.

If you want him to run with the ball more, then tell Pellegrini to play him in his previous position as a box-to-box midfielder. Fernandinho has changed to a new role at City so that Yaya can be the one who gets forward more often, which makes his good form even more impressive.

The Brazilian has been deployed in a deeper role since at City since his move to Manchester, but says he does not mind where he plays.

"Perhaps Big Phil (Scolari) is watching and if I have the opportunity to play for the Selecao doing this role I would be extremely happy," he continued.

No one dribbled the ball with more success than Fernandinho in last year's Champions League when he played a box-to-box role (and scored against Chelsea after a run from the halfway line in a move that he started)

Chelsea proved how good he is that, he is so quick and just breezed past their midfield.

I like that setup and that's another benefit it provides.

Like Navas in another thread he'll need time, he's starting to show in bits and bats that he's going to be a "Gud Un"

There's some right tossers on here.

"steady progress" is bollocks, Fernandinho has been very good from the off, it's you who didn't appreciate him at first.

I think the price tag was the reason. The expectations were a bit silly. I think people expected him to be a goal scorer because he cost 30m. Not sure why so much was made about his price when Felaini was 27m. Anyone want to trade dinho for Felaini? Thought not.

That Brazilian Manager is stark raving mad for not selecting Fernan. He is a fantastic player. Had a superb game today.
