There's not much between the two mate, both possess very similar qualities. Only thing Khedira has in his favour at the moment is experience and proven quality at the highest level, Dinho is yet to achieve that. Saying that, I've never seen Khedira put in a performance as good as Dinho vs Chelsea for Shakhtar. Dinho needs a few more of those performances in our shirt before he can be considered better than Khedira.

I'm not slagging him off and I was saying this before he even played one game in our shirt.
My only point is that he isn't a 34 million pound player and we could have spent that money more effectively. thats all

Value is subjective I really don't know why people get worked up about it, you don't know how the deal is structured

Or are paying it themselves.

He was immense against Newcastle and certainly wasn't our worst player against Cardiff. Give the boy a chance to settle.

value is also relative to other players, and several players of equal or better caliber were available for less than 20 million this transfer window.

hes younger, far more energetic, moves the ball on faster and increases the tempo of his team better (this is the biggest problem city have had for years), better in the air, much stronger and as you say has more experience and success at the top level.

Sami Khedira is a 30 million pound player

Thats daylight robbery, if someone offered Madrid 30 million, they would bite your hand off... Khedira is a 15-20 million at best..

'Dinho looks like a finished version of Gelson Fernandes and a smidgeon of De Jong on the side. It'll soon be become apparent how good the lad is. He looks promising.

He has played 2 games! 2 games and some are slagging him off

You've been a member of this forum for 6 years and this still shocks you?

Agreed.

He wasn't very good at Cardiff though. That being said, he was amazing against Newcastle and will be consistently in the future. I don't understand why so many go through this period of slagging our players when they first arrive. Nigel De Jong is the one that stands out the most. When we signed him in January everyone on here was going mental about how shit he was. Half way through the next season everyone was raving about him.

Because all those that slag players off after two fucking games are wums, rags or sad bastards pretending to be city fans. very sad.

Not exactly true, but there are many fans who think players are like robots and they can just be unleashed on the field and play to their full best every game, regardless of the circumstances, but it's all par for the course at the moment it appears that people are working themselves up into a negative frenzy and are lashing out at any target

The Shakhtar performance is the benchmark of what we expected but Sunday was full of misplaced passes.

Brazil squad for 2014? well he better buck his ideas up.

I actually think he is a hell of a player let's just hope the Cardiff game was an off day.

Great debut against Newcastle where he showed us what he brings. Loads of chasing, pressing and getting his foot in whilst at the same time comfortable on the ball and the ability to pick a pass. I think it prudent to take into account how poor the opposition were though, added to the fact we were at home and it was the first game of the season.
The Cardiff game, well he was poor, but then to balance that he was let down by an awful lot of his team mates.
Conclusion? Way too early to judge, anyone who's made their mind up on those two outings are giddy to say the least.

I didn't think he was poor per se against Cardiff, he hardly did anything wrong.

I thought he shirked responsibility and stood behind opposition players too much instead of making himself a passing outlet.

That was my only complaint really.

Think he's still trying to figure out Silva and moreso Yaya's game and how best to contribute to the team. That can take a few competitive games to gel.

After he becomes comfortable with his teammates and vice versa, I reckon he will start taking the reigns a bit more. Even Silva took a few games before before he really started to control the team, demanding the ball more, etc.

An (crappy) anology would be a new copilot on the job. He might know all the functions but he isn't going to to take command of the plane immediately when he's the new guy. It'd be a little arrogant.

From what I've seen against Newcastle, there is much to be confident about. Anyone who think he will be this invisible as against Cardiff are kidding themselves. Just needs time to bond with his team.

Again the slow build up moving forward makes Silva and Co less effective than they should be.

We have to cough it up eventually as the players are not good enough to make the pin point pass every time.

The slow build up is a remnant from the previous coaching staff. Not one of Pellegrini's teams in all the years I've watched them have ever gone in for what we saw yesterday. To think it isn't something which will change, and change relatively quickly, is a bit naive.

I hope you are right BS , it was along with the previous man management style of the RM and your other well documented concerns about how we played that led you to the conclusion that a change was necessary which was shared by the owners.

If we are to continue with this style and the longer it lasts the harder it is to change for the better we have to defend much better especially at set pieces.

Last year we didn't concede too many goals from corners and you can correct me if I am wrong but Manure away was the only significant one that comes to mind and we still won that game.

We were dreadfull vs corners & set pieces last year. Gave up 2 vs Ajax away which cost us the game. Away to West Ham we got away with one that was called offside even though it wasn't. I remember this was a commen theeme here last season. I wish I could recall other specific games but there were many.
