Absolute dross today. Couldn't win the ball for love nor money. He was taken out of the game so many times by Hull's midfield. The game simply passed him by .Garcia would have been a better option today.

yeh his speed and technical skill would've really been the answer to all our problems.

It appears everything I feared when I heard about the transfer was confirmed today. Not saying he couldn't be a quality player but for £30 million I expect him to be shitting gold bricks every minute. He looked like he was worth £7 million today, and that's with City (as is usual) being taken for a ride.

Barry and De Jong were still far better CDMs than what I've seen from Fernandinho, and yet Pellegrini insists on playing him in the starting 11, no doubt he's forced to after spending that ridiculous amount of money on him

Okay, no negativity for negativity's sake, having read previous posts I think he does need a bit more time - just not half a season - to find his feet, but if he is anything like as good as his admirers think he is he needs to get a move on. Agree with those who pointed out his improved performance in the second half against Hull, did start to look a quality player and i'm sure we'll start to see a consistent class act very soon. If we are to make the most of his attributes and get the best out of him and lazy arse Yaya, they need an oppo to complete this midfield triumvirate, someone to do the vital if unglamourous midfield defensive donkey work, in other words fill the vacant NDJ role, and for me that should be Milner. Grit, pride, passion, timing, stamina and nous in abundance, although some may think he would be wasted in such role.

Not saying that, just that he would have been better than Fernandinho.

Without him today i think Hull would have beaten us,Huddlestone was a beast and Fernandinho helped tame him.
Yaya certainly wasn't up to that task and should not be deployed any longer in a defensive role.

As for Garcia being superior?? please......

have not been impressed at all with him so far.Just hoping he comes good.Milner offers far more, but can he play CM?

People are ignoring that Fernandinho is trying to do the work of two men at times and is all over the place in midfield. Yaya is a great player but he picks and chooses when he wants to be a great player and he's setting a pretty bad example of work ethic as acting captain. Pellegrini's system demands two midfielders doing all the dirty work because it's so attack-based, but only one is trying to do the dirty work as it stands so no wonder we are getting overrun. But blame Fernandinho, who is quickly becoming the new BM scapegoat even though he actually hasn't been NEARLY as bad as some are saying. In fact, I don't think he has been bad at all really, just sloppy at times. There's an imbalance in midfield at the moment and Yaya is causing it more than Fernandinho. We actually have no specialised defensive midfielder left now except Garcia, which is scary.
