The hoofing came in the last few minutes, as is expected. Up until that point, Milner was often finding Navas quickly. Maybe I'm recalling it wrong, but from what I remember, the first three opportunities when Navas got to the byline to cross the ball, came from Milner opening up his body and moving the ball out wide immediately. And aside from the Sunderland game, I think Milner has shown enough times that he's a quick and direct passer of the ball.

Agreed though Milner passed the ball much quicker and pushed further forward than Garcia

Dont understand the level of shit he gets if Yaya or Dinho out then surely to fucking god he is next in line for that midfield slot

Nor me. Given a proper chance under the previous or current regime I reckon he could have proved his value in that position. He has differing attributes (positive & negative) to others in the centre and is a good option. He has the odd game or sub appearance in there and he's labelled rubbish. Any player needs a run of games in a position to prove their worth and frankly that's something Milner's never afforded.

No body saying he is rubbish he not technically good enough for our midfield

Based upon our away performances to date i would say a pair of bollocks rather than technical ability is what we need - or are you eaying that the midfield of Cardiff - Villa or Sunderland are more technically gifted then ours - the truth is they aint but they fucking matched us through sheer hard work graft desire and a passion to play for the shirt

Maybe having such a couple of players in the team might turn things around a little

Every team require balance - having technically gifted players is great but fuck me who would not want DJ back

Milner shoudl have started in the middle Garcia is not better than Milner i think most people would agree the team selection was shite

I have and will never say Milner is a winger but if our fucking manager is insistent on playing a 4 4 2 then you need more legs in midfield than Garcia offers its that simple which is what i was saying

If fit, which he was on Sunday, I'd select Rodwell ahead of Garcia. He's got more pace and drive to him, he doesn't dwell on the ball for as long either, and he can influence the game at both ends, Garcia gives us nothing in the opponents half and his lack of pace is an issue defensively.

I'm not saying Garcia is better Milner we played 442 on Sunday Sunderland didn't get out of their own half we didn't need legs we need somebody with a bit of composure and guile which Milner unfortunately for all his endeavour is sadly lacking

Missed this lad badly on Sunday. As some have mentioned, Jimmy
Milner should be first option should Fernandinho / Yaya be unavailable. Garcia is a disgrace & an embarrassment.

We have had Nasri, Yaya, Sergio, Negrado and Navas in the second half to provide that guile - they didnt provide it for a number of reasons.

The problem on Sunday was team selection and formation nothing more

Almost certainly following Senor Pellegrini's insightful tactical instructions to the letter.

Same as everyone else it would appear ie fuck all and showing no guile but clearly this is not a requirement of any other player we have only Milner.

GMS Academy member Joe Ball picks the 10 worst performers of the summer's transfer acquisitions...

10. Ricky Van Wolfswinkel

Norwich splashed out £8.5 million on the Dutch striker and he has yet to prove he is worth that. He has only mustered one goal this season, coming in his debut versus Everton, and has really struggled to get to grips with the English game. There is still plenty of time for the former Sporting Lisbon striker to prove the critics wrong.

9. Gary Hooper

Another Norwich striker to be disappointing. Hooper made the move from Celtic for a reported £5 million but has only scored once in the league. It is so disappointing because of his goalscoring record and form and Celtic. Like Van Wolfswinkel, they may just need time to settle in and hopefully see the best of them.

8. Arouna Kone

The Ivory Coast international hasn’t had the best of starts to his Everton career since he made the move with manager Roberto Martinez from Wigan Athletic. He is yet to score for his new club and hasn’t put in any notable performances. He has also been overshadowed by the performances of Romelu Lukaku.

7. Danny Graham

Sunderland signed the man who had done pretty well at Swansea but he failed to score in 11 games for the Wear side team. So he agreed to a loan move to Hull City at the start of the season and his goal drought has continued. No goal in nine games for the Tigers and he is getting pretty desperate to break this long drought. Hasn’t added much to the Hull team. Strange signing.

6. Iago Aspas

This player has quite simply been a disaster for Liverpool after his reported £7.7 million transfer from Celta Vigo. He has made six appearances this term and has done nothing to justify his price tag. Not Brendan Rodgers' best buy while he’s been in charge. The supporters will hope for better, but there hasn’t been anything to suggest there will.

5. Marouane Chamakh

How this player has played for Arsenal is anyone’s guess. He made the switch to Crystal Palace and has continued to show why he isn’t Premier League standard. He has bagged once for his new club but it will take a while for him to add to that as most opposition defenders have a comfortable day marking the striker.

4. Jozy Altidore

One of Paulo Di Canio’s signings. It’s been a disastrous start for the big lad and he hasn’t put in any notable performances. His goal drought continues which at the moment stands at 10 games. He joined the Black Cats after an impressive spell at AZ Alkmaar but hasn’t replicated that kind of form in the red and white stripes of Sunderland.

3. Roberto Soldado

The 28-year-old Spaniard joined Tottenham Hotspur for a club record £26 million from Valencia, which was subsequently broken by the £30 million signing of Erik Lamela. It’s not been all positive for the centre forward, he hasn’t set the place alight. He has scored four goals in the league but hasn’t put in any man of the match standard performances. It seems as though Spurs may have paid a bit too much.

2. Marouane Fellaini

£27.5 million for the big Belgian midfielder was what Manchester United paid Everton. It seems like a panic buy from David Moyes who missed out on many of his summer transfer targets. The centre midfielder has endured a tough start to his United career, putting in some below par performances and also getting sent off in a Champions League match against Real Sociedad.

1. Fernandinho

What a disastrous of a start for the Brazilian. Manchester City splashed out £30 million on the former Shakhtar Donetsk player. When a club spends that kind of money, you expect instant performances. However, he hasn’t shown to be worth half that price let alone the whole of it. He has a long way to go if he wants to be at the same level as fellow City midfielder Yaya Toure.

Damn, I had no idea about that. I feel even better now. Got a picture with both of them as well.

Whats hard to understand is, it was 10 times more crowded when Javi Garcia was doing this last year.

Oh, and Fernandinho looks to be picking up English pretty well

Last one I went to was Robinho and Elano and I had to buy that horrendous orange city shirt to get the opportunity. I did buy two shirts and they autographed them but I had to queue up for about three or four hours
