I think he's replacing the wrong person. I wouldn't even be upset if yaya left instead of Barry at this point.

One of our best players today

Negredo and Fernandinho have been our best players so far. Only just started playing and already making big contributions

Fernandinho's workrate is phenomenal.

It's not easy making your debuts in a foreign league for a team that is struggling for form

Looks like a player trying to bed in for me, he plays it too simple so he doesn't make a mistake and looks scared to go on any wonder runs we expect see from him.

It's all confidence with him at the moment.

Him an Yaya won't click for another 6 months to a season in my opinion!

The real question marks should be hanging over Yaya 'I earn 250k a week and am still a lazy shite's head. The fucker can't even get off the floor without being given a hand up by opposition team members. I am seriously worried about his contribution. If he is what he have in the engine room for the rest of the season then we are in serious trouble. Serious trouble. To play with two i the middle like we are you need to have players who are giving 100%. I lost count of the amount times I saw him slugging about the pitch. The gaps we had through the middle were frightening. I am starting to really dislike him and his attitude.

you have no idea.

the transfer market has changed because of the increased revenues clubs make. an experienced CM is going to cost you £30m.

Funny, I expected people to be saying he tries too much and gives the ball away more frequently than if Barry or Garcia were playing next to Yaya.

I don't envy his job, playing in a midfield two with Yaya is difficult, he has to do a lot of the leg work but I've been reasonably impressed so far. He's quick, agile, decent with the ball, gets stuck in and generally a tidy player.

I think the problem with having so much access to football on tv and the internet is that people will have seen highlights of him at Shakhtar and expect "wonder runs" etc every game, despite the fact he probably only did it 3/4 times all season. In the majority of games he'll be relied upon to keep the ball moving and break up play.

-- Sat Aug 31, 2013 4:39 pm --

His post is clearly very exaggerated but I do often think we're a little suspect with a midfield two including Yaya against teams playing three in the middle with high energy. I'd like to see us use three in the middle more often.

they work very well together imo.

the truth is hull, cardiff and even newcastle, packed the midfield.

which is why silva/nasri are having to drop deep and help out.

the 4-2-2-2 is flawed. I wish we could start with a 4-3-3 every week. fernandinho, toure and silva in the middle of the park ! magic !
