So we agreed an 18m fee... but we didn't really want him!

Dearie me.

We have no time...so...deal off

31 days is not enough?

Honestly?

This reminds me of the Fabian Delph deal from the previous window when we agreed a deal... then couldn't get final approval done in time.

Strange chain of command...

I can I just put facts straight here, us not signing Delph in the last window had fuck all to with waiting for approval from Abu Dhabi. Ken Bates spoke a load of shit, cause that deal happened at the same time we took two promising Academy players from Leeds. The deal we offered included the two kids. Leeds would not agree to this due to complex financing arrangements they have for certain players.

A tribunal later set the price on the kids

The Gago deal did not happen due to Real taking the piss thinking we would pay whatever it took for Gago. We didnt budge, and they approached us at the last minute agreeing to our original offer. Far too late at that stage to complete the deal.

Real fucked up. Not realising different times for windows shutting. They now have a 17m Euro player sat in their reserves that wont be going to the world cup as a consequence.

Fuck off cook. We should of got this guy. Why? our midfield currenty sucks buttox and he would of improved it massively. And gago, tevez and zabaleta could of convinced aguero to come here in the summer! (Him, messi and aguero are best friends)

I don't know what all the fuss is about. We didn't need Gago and Big Mac. Big Mac was first choice and when the work permit was denied late in the day, we tried a last ditch to get Gago but ran out of time.

I don't see anything wrong with this. We could not have lined Gago up just in case Big Mac failed as he wouldn't have felt like first choice and he's hardly going to come then is he!? What with the precious egos footballers have.

It was just one of those things. Not entirely sure we needed any of them to be honest...

Wow, there is a hell of a lot of negativity on here.

From all the snippets i've read the chain of events with Gago are,
1) Start of the window we asked Real and they said 20mil, we walked away.
2) We go for Mcdonald instead
3) We get Mcdonald.
4) Last day of window Mcdonald cant get a work permit so we walk away.
5) We have a last ditch effort for Gago, it looks to go through but we run out of time.
6) unsure if true but we're looking for special dispensation due to the work permit snaffu.

Where's the fuck up there?

Fernando Gago's agent has hit out at Manchester City over their handling of their bid for the player, with Real Madrid's sporting director Jorge Valdano echoing his displeasure

This type of acts not good for the club reputation on the long run

And the fact that we have an excellent relationship with Barca isnt going to have any bearing in this at all is it?
