Fernando Torres Update

Torres won't be moving this summer. There will only be a few clubs who could acctually afford him, us, Chelsea and real Madrid.

Now we all know that Torres is a former atletico player and supported them as a boy (I think he liked Liverpool aswell) and therefor won't be moving to real. I think if Liverpool was to sell him this summe they would be looking for 60-80m which I really really doubt Chelsea would make a bid that high. If Chelsea was to bid I think it would be around 40m which we could easily raise that. I don't think torres would come to usthis summer due to no champions league, therefor I think he will stay another year and then leave in the summer for a less asking price I reckon around 50m which will end up with a host of clubs battling.

Personally I would rather have Ibra, we all know that he could play all 50-60 games a season whereas Torres around 25.

I think your right that he'll sit tight at the dippers for another season and look at his options next summer............unless the new manager sacrifices him to generate funds for his own players?

Very unlikely, unless Liverpool find new owners he'll be off but any deal will take place once the WC is over. Torres has nothing to gain from staying at Liverpool as there is no chance they will gain CL football next season.

I hope Ajay will agree that any offer to Torres will cost a club close to £100m - I'm not sure Chelsea will pay that.

It will be a month of Sunday's before we pay 100m for Torress

I didn't mean pay £100m for him - I was making the point that all in with transfer, wages fee's etc you are looking at this as a ball park cost and few if any other clubs (including Chelsea) are unlikely to want to go there. Perhaps we won't either.

If there's lack of options he wont have a choice?

He might well do that, but TBH i don't really want him here that much. Not so much cos of his injuries, but cos over the last year or so I am sure he has come out with plenty of unnecessary and critical comments about our club to the media. I can't remember the exact cases - dont know if anyone else can? - but i remember at the time being well hacked off about it.
