That's insane. Porto must not be happy to lose him. Since he's coming on a free, I'm sure he'll get his payday with City.
£165,000 per month? £38,000 per week.

that's not that much by our standards.

I don't think most PL fans realise just how lowly paid most other leagues are, praticularly Portugal. That's probably why you see people saying "Garcia might go back there" or things like that, it's just not viable. Our lowest paid players are paid double what there highest earners make

I can wait for this guy to back up Yaya and Fernandinho he seems more than just your average "water carrying" midfielder

His inclusion alone would give City the option of playing a different game if circumstances dictate. We have on here many a discussion of what formation to use, e.g 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3 or 4-2-2-2. I always let this formation talk drift over me as a successful team like ours is highly fluid and cannot be pidgeonholed into a simple numeration. For what it's worth, radio broadcasts of team news usually have us as 4-2-2-2 as the broadcaster will usually name Yaya and Fernandinho as 'holding' midfielders, but I cannot really accept this as such. Neither player is truly defensive, and they both drift forward given the chance. But there are times when games could get physical and it may be prudent to have Silva, Nasri, or Navas on the bench, opting for someone like Fernando to have a true holding role, with Yaya and Fernandinho having more freedom to get forward. That's the way I see it anyway, but I wouldn't trust the slow Garcia to do the job and if Pelle thinks Fernando is a better bet, I'd trust him.
