Gotta love it when greedy clubs get their comeuppance. 10m for a player we are now getting for free. Would have been nice to have him for the rest of the season but knowing we already have more quality in central midfield is great news.

It also gives are current CMs an extra incentive to perform well until the end of the season.

Good work by Txiki if we have indeed got him for free. Goal are pretty damn reliable right now when it comes to info on us so I am confident we have got him.

Zucculini and Fernando look like good fits for how we want to play and what we need our midfield to do so two hopefully good additions for a nominal fee.

Not really. Porto aren't short of funds whatsoever and will be needing Fernando to secure Champions League.

Porto's financial situation has been described as "changing" hence their willingness to even entertain offers.

Plus, the guise of third party ownership mean they often receive significantly less than any reported transfer fee's. I think they received less that £20m for Falcao, in 2 installments for example.

Also Porto have previous for making players train alone, and there's reports that Fernando has feigned his current injury. I wouldn't be best pleased if I was the manager or owner if that was the case. Added to the fact they are already 9 points clear of the team in 4th place, with a game in hand (just 3 off first) then they might feel they have some flexibility with regards to his inclusion.
