why let Garcia leave, then we are effectively in the same position as we were last season, with just 3 reliable CMs.

Said it on the Garcia thread but if Garcia is the one overseas player who needs to be left out of Champions league squad he might have to be given the option to leave. We will need a 4th CM so it will probably need to be a homegrown one.

Hopefully Milner will sign a new contract, plus the restriction is only for European Competition, there are still 38 League games plus League and FA Cup games. IMO Garcia still has a role to play within the squad.

I can't be arsed reading through 10 pages of grown men bitching over the internet so i don't know if it's been mentioned but....his name is in the club shop, not on view but it's under the counter where the shirt printing is so it must be announced soon surely

I agree, it's just that if he is told he won't be in the champions league squad he may decide he wants to go , it's possible it could even be in his contract.
It may also depend on how the club see Rodwells future. A fit Rodwell coached by Pelligrini could be as good or better than Garcia.

Whys he not allowed to play for Portugal but thiago motta is allowed to play for Italy despite having 2 caps for Brazil? Seems a bit unfair to me

what's the chances of that being FERNANDinhO folded up, a bit like Zabalateta's done for Bale?
The size of the lettering would be smaller for the longer name.

Guys, sorry to ask a silly question but why would be be printing his name on shirts before we announced his signing?

thank you

it wouldn't surprise me that we would, as he'd need one for his publicity shot and you can imagine they'd want some on display in the shop straight away. I would be surprised if we left his name lying about in full view several days before a signing was announced.

Were not printing his name on shirts.
That photo quite simply shows we have stock of his name ready to print on shirts once the signing is confirmed.

Because Motta possesses dual nationality – his paternal grandfather is Italian.
FIFA granted players to have one chance to change their representing nation if they had dual nationality, but not for players who have already played in a competitive "A" match (non-friendly)
Fernando played a competitive match (or matches?) for Brazil before he applied for Portuguese nationality. So fair has nothing to do with it, it's the rules.

Perhaps some fans got a bit ahead of themselves too, and asked for his name on a new shirt. They'll print anything you ask (within reason) will they not?
