Home-grown players do not have to be English; home-grown players are defined as those who "irrespective of nationality or age, have been affiliated to the FA or Welsh FA for a period of three seasons or 36 months prior to 21st birthday

Sounds like it'd give us tremendous versatility and would let Fernandinho play an advanced Yaya role and let Yaya play marauding Yaya! If that makes sense.

I'd be getting a touch nervous about HG spots with that squad...

Only MILNER, HART, CLICHY, LOPES(Only because he is U-21) can be passed of as HG in that squad. That's 22 players so add 3 home-grown and that's 7, one short of the required quota. we should keep rodwell or richards.

We should see what Guidetti can do before selling him. No patience!

Is this looking likely guys? Seems a little out of the blue. I've seen numerous reports linking him with the rags, but only a couple suggesting he'll come to the Etihad. Apparently some Portuguese agent on twitter has strongly implied that Fernando to City is pretty much a done deal, but I'm weary for three key reasons. Firstly, I've not got Twitter account myself so I can't check. Second, I don't speak Portuguese anyway meaning the dude could be sharing one of his wife's cake recipes for all I know. Thirdly - and most importantly of all - the website in question contains more blindly optimistic bullshit and grasping at straws than a David Moyes press conference.
