weren't all these players brought in under someone elses watch?

they deserve at least as much credit tbf

probably more imo

nice job on the renewals though
Marwood, tbf, had about a 50% success rate with signings, so far Txiki is 100% and is getting great prices for outgoings (although I'm far from sold on Fernando). Time will tell, but looks like the two Catalan boys are doing a fantastic job.

imo fernando is a better, more tenacious and more mobile replacement for garcia, we all know, or should know, that when toure is released from his defencive duties that he become more effective
Imo he's also far worse at reading the game and weaker in the air. Could be a great addition and I trust txiki so I'm hardly worried but I don't think he's going to take us to the next level.

I knew we'd be in good hands as soon as they arrived. 2 of the best signings the club has ever made

really?

Yes.

Particularly Ferran.
Really? Soriano is one of 1000 top notch CEOs/marketing execs we could have recruited, honestly I've worked with people just as good, Txiki on the other hand is generally acclaimed as the best DOF in football with maybe Antero Henrique (Porto) and Mathias Sammer (Bayern). Txiki for me is the most valuable of the two.

Not many with his track record in football tho

But early to judge isn't it?

I've seen Fernando about 10-15 times in European games and in nearly every one of those appearances he was better than Garcia's best for us.

He's a super bargain buy and anyone judging him by pre-season or even start of season needs to go back into the Bluemoon archives, specifically the Flopinho Fernandinho thread.

Seen plenty of him at Porto, including 4 times live, have mates that are season ticket holders and they don't think he's any better than Garcia. As I said, I'm not worried, but not too excited either, Sagna our top signing for me and we could be pissing ourselves over getting Zuculini for less than £40m in 3/4 years.

He has actually looked good for City in 2 matches already. His passing and movement is fantastic. He is slightly slower than I'd like, and has sometimes attacked too much, for someone who's supposed to be a specialist DM. And I haven't seen enough tackling and break ups from him yet but when we are in possession he is miles ahead of Garcia, and probably a yard ahead of Dihno.band that is saying something. I have no doubt he'd be very good.

Managed to grab a word with both of them last night. Told them they have done a brilliant job this summer. Whilst cautious about them at first I can see they mean business. Can't see them letting up any time soon either
