These two are definitely going to need to earn their big salaries this summer. We are handicapped to some degree in the transfer market, whilst it looks like Chelsea, Arsenal, United, Liverpool will all spend big. Our squad may well be the strongest in the PL but it isn't strong enough to win the CL and it certainly isn't particularly balanced at present. These issues should be addressed this summer and although you can't fix everything in one window, we need tweaks, but the right tweaks.

Lets see how they do.

Further progress to the latter stages is all we need next year, I reckon., Billy. Get us ready to win it the year after ;-)

A top centre half and midfielder and I reckon we won't be far off.

It's not as simple as that for me because we have the wider h/g issue as is being discussed in the other thread, and also we IMO will lose at least one player from the squad we don't expect to (like Milner).

Disagree slightly, worse squads than City's have won the CL, and at the very least got to the final.

Think it's more how we set up in Europe, and luck of the draw to some extent.

It's certainly a squad capable of winning it on technical ability alone.

If Atleti happens to win CL, it really blows up the need for a massive or strong enough squad considering they arent too deep and built on a small budget.

Sergio Aguero's new deal reduces annual FFP hit from £16.1m to £11.2m. Great business by MCFC to not only lock Aguero up, but also save £.

Kun's new deal will see him earn £150,000/week + bonuses according to the media. Positive FFP effect: <a class="postlink" href="http://twitter.com/JakeFCohen/status/500017901114761217" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://twitter.com/JakeFCohen/status/500017901114761217</a> …

But the hat-trick of new deals for Aguero, Silva and Kompany represents a stunning statement of intent. Kompany is understood to be earning a basic £120,000 and Silva £140,000.
Including bonuses, City’s financial commitment to the four players could top £200m over the course of the next five years and they still plan to offer new deals to Joe Hart, Edin Dzeko and James Milner.

If true (the wages)

1 Rooney = > 1 Silva + 1 Aguero

Hahaha

Our biggest problem is the draw. Our ball, cube or whatever they are will all ready be in the freezer along with the nastiest available in pots 1,3 and 4. Twatini will see to this after the Lampard deal.
