Didnt get us what we really needed - a world class centre back................
I'm not sure we were ever in for a world class centre back and the options are not many.

Why hamper Nastasic's progress either?

I certainly don't think we need a world-class centre-back. We need leadership when Kompany's out, that's all.

Which is what we bought (I hope)

My thoughts precisely. I'm not happy about letting Suarez and Razak go, and I think letting Barry is a bit foolish as well with our full-backs being expected to push forward, but our first-team signings I'm happy with and represent good value I think. Fernandinho touch and go being expensive as he is but I think this squad is the best in the league, especially as Chelsea let Lukaku and Moses go out on loan. Pellegrini's got the ingredients. Let's see what the man can do.

What's your beef with letting Suarez & Razak go? Not a loaded question btw ... i'm genuinely interested.

We already have a world class centre back and a fantastic up and coming centre back why would we waste £25 million + on something we dont need. Did Mark Hughes take over again?

Well, basically, we were asked to get on-board with this vision of a new era at City with Pellegrini overseeing this move to a holistic City where there was going to be a clear transition of EDS players into the first-team side. I got on-board with that. I'm excited about City's future and our development. Indeed I was excited when we started stealing hot prospects from Madrid and Barcelona. Then it looks, to me anyway, that Pellegrini won't get that chance. Perhaps I'm wrong, but Suarez and Razak looked like the players most likely to break into the squad in the near future. Suarez has been one of (the only?) EDS players to be on the past two summer tours with the first-team. Razak is already in the Ivory Coast international side, and I feel has the right attributes to be the next Yaya, and would have benefited from Yaya's tutelage as the ultimate role model of the player he should be and as senior member of his own international squad and there's also the factor of having a fellow Ivorian to relate to. To me it feels like a setback, I'm still excited by the Etihad campus and the long-term plan of the academy, I'm very much on-board with that, but unless I'm mistaken, I don't see any other players breaking into the first-team at least in the next two years. It could be that I am mistaken and I fully accept that as a possibility.
