Honestly feel despite the front and bravado we are and will continue to miss Garry Cook No opinion on Soriano and similar but not quite the same with Txiki but this Txiki fills me with the feeling " here we go again another lightweight fly by night bull merchant". Cook was this but also got a lot of work done and was well liked. He was pantomime box office at times but I liked him. Pellegrini reminds me of the Erikson era. Sadly also. I think it will take 6 months but the Man who will come out best in all this in terms of " maybe he was the real deal" will be Mancini. Throw Cook Cassell Platt in there and I think we will see a classic case of be careful what we wish for coz it was better before.

Agree with some of your points SP but I feel that there would still be that level of disgruntlement with senior/star players had Bob still been here. One could argue that the level of that disaffection with RM would be even more exacerbated
For me the key question is whether MP is the right replacement given his somewhat sparse record as regards to actually winning silverware. To me he´s always been the type of manager who gets the best from more modest teams and players, punching well above their weights if you will. City is a completely different animal these days
Time will tell but I´m looking ahead to the next few months with a little trepidation to say the least

As a poster on said on here previously: 'A Chilean David Moyes?'
I genuinely do hope not.

His season with Real proved his ability to handle megastars/ego's.

He couldn't be any different to Gollum.

Do you mean 'He couldn't be any MORE different to Gollum'?

It's been a poor start, I don't believe anyone looked at our start and didn't think that was 9 points in the bag.

Not wishing to gloat about my 20/20 hindsight but I, for one, thought the Cardiff game had banana skin written all over it. Newly promoted club in their first home game, back in the big time, for an age and live on TV? What's not to dread?
Remember how poxed Utd were at St Mary's last year? Remember when they came a cropper at Burnley a few years ago?
These are dangerous outings for anyone unlucky enough to draw them.
Throw in the fact that we've been defending under a new regime and bedding in key players and, all in all, I'm happy enough with our start.
The more we play the meaner we'll get at the back. All we need to do is hang in there so we're still in the mix come New Years.
We can afford two more losses and still do that.

History says you can lose 4 or 5 (maximum) games a season if you want to win the title.
So no panic..... yet.
Be surprised if the winning points total isn't a little lower than normal this season.

I think that's an extremely misguided opinion on Txiki, you can already see the immensely positive work that has been done and anyone who argues otherwise is either not paying attention or just doesn't want to listen.

Or disagrees with your opinion.

you can only disagree if you ignore facts, which then returns to my previous post.
