You can have two formidable managers and accountants on the board, but what happens on the pitch is down to the coach and players.

City aren't a Man Utd. If we fail this season, then there maybe no endless chances to have another go next season.

Last season was regarded as a failure, but we still got to Wembley and finished 2nd. Right now, I have serious doubts that we'll even finish in the top 4. Granted after 3 games the evidence is very shaky, and if we win at Stoke, I'll change my mind again

Might be stupid to form a opinion game by game, but that's all we can do, and I'm just being honest. I think 99% of the City supporters trooped out of the Etihad against Hull thinking that wasn't very good and we got away with that. We can say that to each other on the way home and in the pub, but we can't put it on the forum, and we can't question why the manager doesn't play to his teams strengths which is David Silva and Negredo. Build the team round them and we'll be fine Evacuate the midfield and we'll go into free-fall. That's the message of the opening 3 games. No sign that Pellegrii understands that yet.

Struggle to finish 4th?

Well it's an opinion ill give you that.

countless times last season I walked out of the Etihad thinking we'd got away with it, and we still finished 2nd and got to the Cup Final.

If you'd have been told before that season started that City would finish over 10 points behind a poor U****d side and lose an FA Cup Final to a relegated side who'd never previously scored against us with their incumbent Manager then would you have accepted it? I wouldn't have. I'd have demanded changes.

Will you take 3rd and last 8 of the champions league and no trophies because at the moment I would

Tbf the real hilarity is in the massives who were all about get behind the team/manager/club last season now falling over themselves to do anything but.

Well on here I moan or praise and discuss the team/manager at the ground I get behind the team/manager like I always have...

Hahahahaha. The fucking irony.

Well Waspish at least you actually GO to the Etihad and watch the games.....

Some of us questioned why we were appointing him from the moment he was linked with us and have seen nothing to change our stance since, in fact I've only seen things that have strengthened my view.

I don't think Pellegrini will be here in a 18 months time and I doubt the Spanish pair will be here much longer.

Being going 25 years never have I slated the manager or any players at the ground I believe in supporting the team at the ground getting on players backs and moaning don't improve players! On a forum it's different, BS comes across as an intelligent guy not like him that post..

I'd prefer 2nd. No trophies? Hmm... Give it a few more matches yet. We should be there or thereabouts.

This thread is so ridiculous it's getting boring. The moaners have lurched from "we're going to walk the league and sweep everything before us" to "we're never, ever going to win anything ever again under this mangement". All on the basis of 3, i'll say it again for emphasis, 3 matches. Both statements, we know are plainly ridiculous. We are a work in progress. We have come from mid table under Hughes to winning the FA cup and League title under Mancini. The current management, IMO rightly, are trying to push us onto the next level under Pellegrini. They have put the nessecary infrastructure in place to achieve this. Their efforts may or may not succeed straight away, in which case they will tweak and change until the desired destination is reached. All that is required is a little patience. Rome, as we all know, wasn't built in a day. The problem IMO isn't the current management, but the spoilt fuckers on here who don't have a perspective of what is happening at Man City and probably life in general.
When a new manager makes some pretty appalling and basic tactical errors (i.e destroy our midfield which has hitherto been the basis of our success), I can't help but comment on it and it undermines my faith in his competence. A new manager should above all else win his opening games and set down a marker. We look weak now. We are weak because Pellegrini has put attacking football first before winning football.

Yeah we have the squad to win the league and a trophy but got a feeling this will be a transitional year to implement the big change in Pelegrini style of play..

That would have to be classed as unsuccesful. OK last 8 in the CL is progress but the lowest league position for 3 years and
no silverware. Thanks, but no thanks. I think we need to be aiming a tad higher than that this year.
