Last week’s thoughts on Barca’s position on Torres, from the FdJ thread:
“Then I guess they’d better ask the Spanish Authorities for the money to BUY Ferran Torres out of his long term contract!
City must be getting tired of being mugged off by all the so-called “big teams” when it comes to players and running down contracts and such. Well, we OWN a Spanish center forward who scores goals. If someone else wants him, they need to pay up or fuck off! The tapping up that these teams do is beyond immoral!”

Don’t see anything to change my views here!
IMHO, NO CLUB should be allowed to speak directly to a player or his agents UNTIL the contracted club has agreed a fee with the potential buying club.
Currently, agents get the player a deal from the buying club, THEN the agent seeds the media with disruptive information and the player starts agitating for a move AGAINST the best interests of the contracted club.
The cart is in front of the horse for players under contract at the moment. Agents & players should be LEGALLY REQUIRED to rebuff enquirers until the period immediately before their contract expiration, as is supposed to be the case already!
