Going out today just cost them €20m in prize money and €10m in gate receipts.

It was questionable if they could stump up a fee for him before, now there's no chance.

Agree. Barca are in a financial crisis, could not even sign players on a free transfer a couple of months ago but are now somehow going to buy a young Spain International for big money in January?
Would be unwise to accept any "buy now, pay later" lowball offer from them, since they are a financial mess and notoriously don't pay their bills. If you want to pay in installments with a terrible credit score, you would have to pay more than its worth, not less. Making any big money deal with Barca at the moment assuming they would pay as agreed would be borderline criminal.

Some cheap headlines aside, that let's face it, they get when they want anyway with any other club.
 
Not paid any attention to this because i thought it was a load of PR from Barca in the same vein as the rags signing the worlds best every year just before season tickets go on sale so apologies if this as been covered in one of the 45 pages before. Simply put, how have Barca been able to chat Feran up when he signed a 5 year contract last year? Who in their right mind gave him permission to talk to other teams (as i'm lead to believe are the rules)
