If Chelsea flipped a squad player within 18 months from £20 million to £50 million we would all be waxing lyrical. Put it in perspective, it’s a good return.
The disappointing element is he was just hitting form as a 9 with us before his injury and you do have to wonder whether this would have even been on the cards if he’d had not got injured. Ah well, all hindsight.

If there is no replacement in January then why not keep him till the Summer?

No strikers at all now which is OK as long as that’s the plan.

On the face of it it’s a very bad decision. I can only think/hope there is a plan we know zero about.

No replacements for Aguero Fern Mendy and now Torres. 3 gaps last window and a 4th now. We can’t continue to run the squad down surely, particularly when we are going for the PL and the CL.

This only weakens us. I don’t get it.

We pissed the league last season without major input from him and are doing exceptionally well again this season without him for the past few months.

I liked him - his movement, dribbling and finishing ability was evident but nothing that would make him a starter in this team.

We'll probably play false 9 for the remainder of the season because it's working a treat as is and there's players in front of him in that position and even more players in front of him on the wing too. Makes sense all round and we get a decent fee for the trouble.

Just feels wrong. Players win trophies not bank balances. He could have been useful at least until we have a replacement lined up.
He's played 2633 minutes in the 18 months he's been here, that's just over 29 games. That's in all competitions; league, League cup, community shield, CL, FA Cup.

Sometimes he's played at the detriment of playing players like Bernardo Silva more. Sometimes he's played in dead rubbers that could have developed players like Palmer.

It's a good fee for a player that's done relatively little.

Great business. Cheap as chips, nurtured into a regular Spain international and sold on for a lot more than twice the price? Nothing to moan about there. He has hardly featured for us. Absolute no brainer
Exactly, I have absolutely no affiliation to him either. It’s not like when Sane left, the majority of this lads time with us has been spent playing in empty covid stadiums.

good luck to him

Well no he won't , probably because he has been capped in competitive games for Spain. Don't think he has dual eligibility either :)
lol are you having an aneurysm? don't run away from the point I am making and be obtuse, if you have no counter argument
