Don't get me started on Garcia, we should have sold imo but tbf I think Barca were even more fucked back then so I dont think they ever put an offer on the table. So why, in that case, did we keep Garcia?
Yes I’m going for the record.
It's a good point this. We have a lot of people who mention our inability to make a profit on our players, but here we are raking it in for a potentially great player who hadn't yet escaped the fringes for us, all in 18 months. If Chelsea flipped a squad player within 18 months from £20 million to £50 million we would all be waxing lyrical. Put it in perspective, it’s a good return.
The disappointing element is he was just hitting form as a 9 with us before his injury and you do have to wonder whether this would have even been on the cards if he’d had not got injured. Ah well, all hindsight.
I think we might need a striker on this run in!Don't get me started on Garcia, we should have sold imo but tbf I think Barca were even more fucked back then so I dont think they ever put an offer on the table.
I also think Pep just liked the lad and figured we might need a CB for the run in.
I'm always sorry to see good players leave, and it's no different in this case, but does anyone think he maybe had some issues with the physicality of the Prem and that was a reason to leave? That was my suspicion when I'd see him get knocked around in the middle sometimes. I don't know enough to know if this is true; it was just a casual observation.
