The sporting director admitted today he can’t be registered unless Dembele signs a new contract which saves Barca a load of money upfront.

They also can’t play their 18 year old prospect Demir because if he plays 1 more game, he will trigger a salary increase which will breach the La Liga FFP rules.

They’re chasing Morata but again won’t be able to register him unless Coutinho goes or Dembele does them a favour.

I would imagine Dembele is about to make an absolute fortune by holding them to ransom with this contract renewal.

This is all about internal politics at Barca, the new President is basically trying to convince their members that everything is fine and that they are still big players. Whereas the reality is that as a business they are utterly insolvent and if they were in the UK they would be in administration. That is before you consider that the much vaunted stadium is basically falling down and in need of a near total rebuild.
