I know what your saying butHow can you be so sure? Looking at what will soon be our squad, I see three players within City who could play the striker role when Agüero leaves: Jesus, Sterling and Torres.
If it turns out, once Jesus get to play more regularly, that he isn’t quite up to what Pep requires of a striker, I believe he would try Sterling or Torres there.
All three of them are fast, have decent ball control, can dribble, stay on their feet, shoot with both feet and finish (Sterling, meh). For me, they all have attributes to be great strikers. I don’t see why Haaland or Mbappe would do a much better job. Pep knows what he’s doing and he could convert any player into what he wants. As I said, I would not be surprised to see Torres used as a striker if for some reason, Jesus isn’t performing as well as expected. I always thought Jesus could be excellent at left wing.
Henry didn't do so bad converting from a winger to a striker.I know what your saying but
Being a striker is an instinct your born with
You could play anyone down the middle and he would score goals but to score 25-30 season in season out just dont happen by chance.
Or a certain Portuguese step over merchant who used to play down the road...Henry didn't do so bad converting from a winger to a striker.
I watched a video of some of Kevin de Bruyne's assists today that lasted five minutes. What struck me was the understanding that he had with Sane who often played on the shoulder of the last defender (striker style) knowing that the ball would come. KdB meanwhile, knew the run that Sane would make so could concentrate solely on delivery of the pass. How can you be so sure? If the most blatant winger we had could play like a striker under Pep, any intelligent player can.
