Feyenoord (H) | CL | Post Match Thread

Very odd behaviour from him tonight.

Sitting there with his head in his hands at 3-1. That’s not normal.

He was feeling what we all were.

3-0 up, morale boosted, just see the game out.

Then we go all Sunday league for that first goal.

You would be hard pressed to find a worse sequence of “defending” anywhere.

He was obviously thinking for fucks sake what is wrong with these cunts?.

Four titles in a row, a treble, a champions league, not to mention almost every club in the country seemingly trying to copy his blueprint in some shape or form.......yet we go 6 shite games and folk are questioning Pep. Fuck sake, a fickle fickle bunch.

Pep is a genius. He takes a share of the blame for what's happened of late, but he'll face up to it and fix it.

The apparent lack of trust in him after how much he's earned it is shameful. Have a fucking word.

We miss Dias so terribly, we’ve conceded 15 goals since he got injured. He’s the only out and out defender we have. He’s also really committed and a leader, we are sorely lacking leadership at the moment.

We need to rest Lewis, Gvardiol if we can. Walker is done and needs to go as soon as possible.

Our back four needs to be Akanji, Stones, Diaa and Ake as soon as they’re all fit. We need defenders.

Our midfield is a shambles Gundogan should be closing out matches instead we’re asking him to run our midfield. Silva offers very little in midfield or wide. Foden is off form. Nunes is a perfect microcosm of our issues right now, great when we’re playing well, offers nothing defensively and seems to lack real conviction. No idea if we’re ever going to see KDB really shine for us again. We’ve bought poorly in midfield and need to get it right in January or who knows how bad it will get.

We desperately need to dig out some results until January so our season doesn’t unravel completely.
Not to mention Stones as well.

Have we fuck.
The team has come to the end of it's cycle, it's really not that hard to fathom.
The slagging off and the vitriol some posters show towards the team after the joy they've give us these past years is laughable.
That's true but what do we need to do now.

Well that was utter fucking shite wasn't it. Feyenoord we pretty poor but it took a dodgy penalty and a deflection to get us ahead. Then we managed a well worked goal and proceeded to collapse like a house of cards. And it was bloody cold during the second half.
I await some happy-clappie who watched from his cosy armchair telling me it was OK.
I was in a cosy armchair with a lovely log burning stove and a very nice glass of wine and I can tell you it wasn’t ok. In fact it was fucking wank. From personal errors to systemic failures it was truly horrible.

I’d actually forgotten about his sarcastic clapping after the second.

The problems are there for all to see and the way we’re playing, to me, suggests that there are major issues somewhere. It’s gone beyond anything relating to injuries or a loss of confidence now.
What if substitutions disrupted rhythm, allowed space in our final third which led to a better press from Feyenoord and caused silly mistakes to get them back into the game? If we over analyse it we lose sight of the control we had of that game up to 75 mins when there were no big issues at all with our play.

I would look at the last 6 out of 7 years rather than a minute during a game.

It's a bad patch. And turning on the manager during it is ridiculous.
I'm not turning on the manager - instead I'm looking to him to lead, motivate, reshape the team in the last 10 minutes and alter the tactics to secure the win - not look like he's ready to jump off the nearest railway bridge.

We should of just put 11 behind the ball on 75 minutes, seems to work for most teams
Sat deeper and countered. Unfortunately not how Pep wants the game to be played.

I wanted minutes for McAtee & KDB but I was really surprised with how Pep set up the team after the subs. Would have thought Bernardo would have dropped to midfield to play alongside Nunes, with McAtee keeping RW. Did limit our control. Also thought Grealish looked fucked towards the end

He keeps losing the ball.
So does Gundo.
When the legs are gone you find you don’t have the time you used to have. Getting caught in possession, diddering about, not making a decision.
Poor decision making has us repeatedly cheaply losing possession. One ball through usually opens up and panics our defence.
Akanji and Gvardiol, to my mind, are not natural defenders. Gvardiol is decent going forward but that’s it.
I would regard Ake as the most naturally defensively minded player we have available and he doesn’t seem to be 100% fit.
And yet how many Blue Mooners on here keep blaming Rico ?
