FFP - 21 Man Squad Restriction & Homegrown Quota

Every club participating in the CL must have 8 home grown players , 4 must be club trained. We don't have any information that we are going to be except from this rule.

All we need to do is sell a few players and promote some from the EDS.

I think Kolarov, Jovetic and Garcia are going. Kolarov being replaced by Mangala. Garcia being replaced Fernando . And Jovetic is surplus to requirements. We're also likely to sign Sagna, but he will miss out on CL football I think.

Why would we sell Jovetic? We just bought him last year for 25m. Sell him now we aren't going to get half that. We bought him for a reason and it wasn't to take a loss.

Don't see us selling Garcia either. He's just started playing well. We need 4 CM's. Can't keep trying to get by with 3 and he's the only pure defensive player in that position.

Fernando is a pure defensive midfielder. We don't need 2, we're not Chelsea. Garcia will be sold imo.

The 20m in sales may allow us to sign a young attacker like Muniain

To make 13 of that 20 is really hard.

Only foreign players I can see leaving is Pantilimon and Demichelis. Thats still 18 players.

Few will be extremely dissapointed when told expect no CL games at all.

Also Uefa home grown rules can be different from PL rules, so Clichy not homegrown for sure. In PL he is, but for Uefa he isnt. He is home grown for French.

We need 4 youth products and 4 English players and 13 foreign players. Youth products can be foreign players like Boyata, Guidetti.

We will be allowed 17 foreign players from uefa's release. So I suspect we will get an English back up keeper and pants will be sold. Milner hart clichy and our new number 2 keeper will be the 4 homegrown

Well it is basically down to that the 25->21 restriction means what, 4 less foreign players or cancel the need of 4 club trained players inclusion...

If it is the latter it is really not a big difference for us.

So 8 home grown players (4 from club 4 from club/same association) and 13 foreign players or
17 foreign players and 4 home grown players. (Still this 4 can be 4 club trained players like Guidetti or Richards or simple home grown players like Milner.

I dont think we know exactly which is the case.

Furthermore, if players are signed this campaign, their transfer fees are not all piled in to one season's FFP report.

They're not. But for the purposes of a £60m spending limit for this summer, I'm pretty sure they will be counting it all at once.

But if you need to spend more than £60m on a title-winning side, you're doing it wrong.

Yes, and players coming in might want assurances that they'll be part of the 21-man squad before they sign.
