Richards, lescott, Rodwell and maybe Milner are going so we need English players.

Who says Milner is going - I can't see that

I cans definitely see it, if say everton come in for him, they will give him regular football starting every game.

One way we have been shafted is clubs will offer lower prices for the players they know we need to get off the books thus limiting our spending

Conversely, we might not get ripped off for players we sign either (although obviously it leaves us vulnerable to being gazumped by other clubs willing and able to pay more).

Not forgetting we may still have to pay a percentage of players wages to get them to leave.

Wont be buying any of the young, sought after, English players thats for sure.

Nastasic is eligible to go on the B-list next season as he will have been at the club for two years and is still U-21, that will free up another "non-HG" place in the A-list. I also agree that selling Pants and bringing in a decent HG No.2 keeper would be a good move.

I can't see Milner wanting to leave, he's an integral part of the squad and even more valuable next season with the CL restrictions.

I think the deals for Mangala and Fernando will already have been agreed and just need rubber-stamping, that seems to be the gist of the club statement anyway.

Jovetic is our fourth striker, it is very likely that he'll be omitted or sold.

Because Clichy is homegrown, he will be in the squad .. this means Kolarov is almost certainly be omitted or sold.

Do you know as an unequivocal fact that we can only register 13 non- home grown players next season, because I haven't seen anything conclusive on that front yet.

It is impossible to know for a fact because UEFA make up the rules as they go, but according to several journalists we can only register 13 non-home grown players.

Ive looked at a UEFA document that says you can have 4 club trained players + 17 "free players" (non-home grown players).

It is interesting:

See page 87 - <a class="postlink" href="http://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Download/Regulations/competitions/Regulations/01/79/68/69/1796869_DOWNLOAD.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Dow ... WNLOAD.pdf</a>

See Article 18:12 "If a club has fewer than eight locally trained players in its squad, then the maximum number of players on List A is reduced accordingly." The table on p.87/88 means that any club that only puts forward four locally trained players can only have 21 in the squad - so (in the absence of anything more specific in the settlement) I'd assume that applies in reverse (i.e. we still get 17 foreign players in the 21)

Yes that's what I think too.

If we do get 17 foreign players then wow, this punishment is a non-punishment. We basically lost the battle with UEFA, but won the war.

I don't think we would have, regardless.

Only one I would really want is Barkley to be fair.
