HH Sheikh Mansoor wants the CL, and I want the CL and many secretly want the CL. so I believe City should put an effort to getting closer to it if not winning it.

Atletico has shown a squad with less depth can go all the way.

If we're suddenly having to drop already signed players from playing in the CL squad, do the players themselves not have a course of action available? Lets say we decide Aguero is one who isn't going to make the cut, that would clearly have an impact on his image rights and so forth - Surely he would have cause to sue either the club or UEFA?

Provided Richards goes and Sagna comes in we can name 13 players from the following:

Zaba

Kola

Yaya

Aguero
Dzeko
Negredo

In theory it shouldn't be that difficult to handle that. We can lose Pants and use one of the club trained keepers. From there you'd probably have to lose one of the strikers.

My worry would definitely be in midfield. Doesn't matter if we sign Fernando we can't register him without sacrificing a player in another position thus leaving us short in that position. At centre half Nastasic and Boyata at least can come in if we have injuries.

Assuming Rodwell is on his way out so not included and we sell Kolarov (who I'd rather we keep) .... You see its very difficult when you consider I've include THREE players that are NOT even City players at the moment and only two keepers ..... !!

As of today these are our foreign players I am excluding Nasty because he qualifies under B list.

If we can only have 13 of the above who do you leave out? Don't forget we must have minimum three keepers in the squad. If we can have 17 and 4 Homegrown then we can add Sagna and Mangala no problem and Fernando if we get rid of one of the above. Sagna is foreign only joined Arsewipe when he was 23. The four HG would be Hart, Milner Clichy and Academy keeper, means Rodwell misses out.

I am assuming that the sanctions do not in any way restrict the number of B list players, so the likes of Lopez, Rekik and all the lads in the academy under 21 can play.

We might be able to discount pantilimon as he is the most likely candidate to be moved on to be replaced by a HG keeper. If we add Sagna, Fernando and Mangala then we have 17 foreign players plus Hart, Clichy, Milner and the keeper.

As we've lost Lescott, that's 21 A-list players so if we brought in new A-list, non-home grown players, we'd have to replace someone on that list, which includes 6 home-grown players. However the rules also say you have to reduce the A-list squad if you can't field 8 home-grown players so normally, with a 21-man, A-list squad, you'd only need to have 4 home-grown players. If they apply that the other way round, we could lose 2 players of those 6 (Richards & Boyata) and replace them with two non home-grown players. If we need 8, we can promote Rodwell or Huws and use Richard Wright as the second keeper.
