FFP - 21 Man Squad Restriction & Homegrown Quota

I'm still struggling to understand how a team can be punished three times for one 'alleged' offence.

I would rather we had been expelled and then the club would definitely have taken them to court imo

It was first leaked that we were facing squad restrictions about 3 weeks ago. Since then we've been negotiating with UEFA before deciding whether to accept the penalties, which have been described by the club as a compromise. Surely at least half a day of those discussions would have focused on how many foreign players we would be allowed? I just cant see City making a decision on whether or not to accept the sanctions without first having nailed that point.

Agree with the above. As I have said earlier in the thread, it could be that both UEFA and City are waiting for the 10 day appeal period to elapse before issuing a clarification thus avoiding the noise of the likes of Wenger for a short while at least.

But if it turns out to be 17+4, wont Wenger and co cry foul?
Perhaps they're waiting for Arsenal's Appeal period to expire before making the announcement ;-)

Yes. Inevitably. But too late.

I've always thought that the 10 day appeal process is just about the daftest aspect of FFP. But given that it exists, I cant see how the clock can be deemed to have started ticking until UEFA clarify the important details of the sanctions.

Dafter (for want of a better expression) than David Gill's, Lord Mellchett-style involvement?

Still no emailed confirmation from UEFA. I've just called them again and their media spokesperson ensures me that I will receive a reply and that the rules are in fact 13 + 4 + 4.

As an aside, she sounds fit as fuck. Top phone voice.

I thought that City fan Gazidis was a UEFA Director as well as Arsenal CEO.
